Firstly a huge welcome to all the newbies on the thread and here's hoping that you're on your way to a whole new wardrobe!
Pet I haven't got a big problem just lots of little ones choosing to batter me at exactly the same time in exactly the same place lol!
Update:
We saw teh children yesterday and it now looks liek we will have to go to court to have them live with us, it's a strange situation but because she left instructions in her will they will be followed in the interim, however this does give us the chance to get everything sorted and look towards our "introduction plan".
The only tallk of mum was when OH's son mentioned that they wouldn't be going to the funeral but would be going to the "do" afterwards, apparently this is what her mother thinks is best though we feel the children should have the chance to say goodbye properly.
We also found out that their grandmother has been to see a solicitior about teh children before we were even told their mum had passed on. OH is the only one with Parental responsibility but G?m still thinks she can do as she pleases, we have it on good authority though that she has no been made aware that she can't.
As it happens they will be remaining at home with their half brother and mum's partner which at the moment seems to be quite sensible he has contact numbers for us and understands he must contact OH for important decisions.
so that's where we are at the moment and seeing solicitor this week.
The stress of all this is playing havoc with my insides I should definitely have a weight loss if things carry on the way they are lol!Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -
Hi Jules, I've only managed to catch up on the thread since your sad news - my heart goes out to you, your OH and the poor kids.
I really hope everything works out for all of you and you don't need the additional stress/hassle of going to court, etc. I'm sure that wouldn't have been what their mum would have wanted for them either.
Hugs to you all and I'll be thinking about you.
Can I just join everyone else who has said before me and a big welcome to all the new people who have joined and also a big hi to Pet - it's good to have you back again - I love all your lovely wee picture - hugs for your bad week but hopefully things are getting better now.
Missyg - You have no idea how depressed you have made me regarding your visit to get a new bra and being told the back size normally goes down but the cup size goes up. I am a 40HH at the moment and don't think you get many cup sizes bigger than that - If this is true I might need to get my bras from a specialist tent shop soon!!!!
Ajax - sorry for my ignorance re Albion winning the cup in 1968. I didn't mean to offend but I really do have no idea when it comes to football (in fact I am pretty thick when it comes to any type of sport at all). I only know of Albion Rovers because my next door neighbour plays for them and Stirling Albion only came to mind because I was racking my brain but that will be me well learned now - if I ever get asked in a quiz which year West Bromwich Albion won the cup I will now be able to answer it correctly.
Anyway, better go to bed now - otherwise I won't be able to get up in the morning - night night - speak to you all tomorrow.0 -

HB xPlease continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...0 -

Just posted a new receipe on the recipe thread - sweet potato and chickpea tagine. Victory, I know you'll be tempted to leave out the honey but it really makes a difference and it's only a teeny little bit. Ajax, I don't know how it fits with WW but you HAVE to try it it's gorgeous!
... ta very much, I will. I love sweet potatoes and chickpeas so you're onto a winner. It will be a point-killer on WW but I get 29 so if a portion costs 12 then it's not all doom and gloom. Can always pull it back with a stir fry.katiepoppycat wrote: »Oh and is Nicola the little ginger one from Girls Aloud?
......:j :j :j she is indeed. She makes my head go fuzzy, and I'd better stop there as we've not passed the watershed yet.katiepoppycat wrote: »His verdict is that it's like watching 'bring it on' in terms of perv value but also a worthwhile film in it's own right.
..... excellent news, I can go to see it without a guilt complex. I have no idea what Bring It On is though, sorry.katiepoppycat wrote: »Darcy'. The headmistress's advice is 'let it dry and it'll brush off nicely'.
.... oh god, you've just reminded me of my most embarrassing moment ever. I started a day-release ONC science course a bit late, a few weeks in, so everyone else already knew each other. At the start of the first chemistry lesson I took a seat and the lecturer said "Guys, this is Martin. Martin, we're just looking into the structure of polymers at the moment. An example of a polymer would be PVC - you've come across PVC?"
I just had to. "Yeah, but it wipes off really easily, so no problem". I thought it would get at least a mild chuckle, nice ice breaker etc, but no. Absolute silence fell across the room for a good 10 seconds and the lecturer gave me one of those looks which said 'Im going to kill your pets'. I wished I could have just disappeared.0 -
ajax are you sure?
.....yeah, pretty much, it was 12 or 13. Bbelle may remember, she amended the chart and may or may not have thought "Oh my god".Have meal planned for the rest of the month
..... bails you gotta be kidding me? No-one can be that organised?Victory~You are far too hard on yourself me thinks.
....me thinks too. Now, I don't want to upset you (welcome back by the way :j hope Mrs A is on the mend) but when all the photos were put on the thread I thought that Suggs was way way way younger than you:rotfl: :rotfl: ...
... oh just get a room, you two. Pet, I was about to say something quite nice to you, but you've spoilt it nowBrighton_belle wrote: »Ajax - buying an organic veg box can be MSE. If you .... the latest telly or to eat very well/ healthily.
.... nah, it's not MSE - all of the fruit 'n' veg can be bought cheaper from Tesco. It's a luxury I'm really looking forward to though. Having read that chard is quite like spinach, I'm particularly keen on trying that.
Ajax - sorry for my ignorance re Albion winning the cup in 1968. I didn't mean to offend
.. lol no offence taken, I was only being silly. I do a lot of that, sorryI only know of Albion Rovers because my next door neighbour plays for them
.... really? Wow. I know they only get one man and a dog turn up to watch, but still.... living next door to a footballer...if I ever get asked in a quiz which year West Bromwich Albion won the cup I will now be able to answer it correctly.
....ahem, which five years
Rharni and all other newbies, welcome.0 -
HannaB well done on your loss
The chart is updated on Wednesday evenings, so last chance for weigh-in is early Wednesday.0 -
Ajax, can't believe you haven't seen 'bring it on'. Oh describes it as '90 solid minutes of Eliza Dushku and Kirsten Dunst cheerleader action'. Then he twitches a bit. Actually, quite a lot . . . . .
Howling with laughter at your pvc comment - hope the rest of class went better, I would have laughed!
Well done HannaB! Thats a great result. And welcome to Rharni, i'm sure you'll find lots of support here. I too am staggered by Bail's level of organisation. I thought I was being pretty good by being usually 2 weeks or so ahead, but that has amazed me. Off to visit supermarkets all day today. MUST STAY AWAY FROM REDUCED LINDT REINDEERS . . . MUST STAY AWAY FROM REDUCED LINDT REINDEERS . . . . . . .0 -

... ooooh it's a movie then? Mmmmmmm Kirsten Dunst. If it's more Wimbledon/Mona Lisa Smile than Spiderman/Jumanji then I sense a trip to Blockbuster.katiepoppycat wrote: »MUST STAY AWAY FROM REDUCED LINDT REINDEERS . . . MUST STAY AWAY FROM REDUCED LINDT REINDEERS . . . . . . .
...I had the same failings with the reduced Lindt easter bunnies0
