    Evening everyone!

A miniscule ¼lb loss here! (BB this brings my total loss to 37lb exactly, thank you for doing the chart).

I'm over the moon with this, as I was expecting a small gain considering how little exercise I did last week, and that I had two days where I know I went over my normal calorie intake. The extra careful eating on Friday thru Sunday seems to have saved me.

Back to normal now and trying to maintain, there will be no excesses for New Year and I've already been back in the gym today. I am starting 2008 probably the best part of 3 stone lighter than 2007 and boy, it feels great!!!

Thank you all so much for being here to chat to and helping me get to my goal :D I must catch up on what I've missed during today now. Back soon!

bb for me it was a 1.5lb loss on dec 19th, well no, on the 23rd it was 1.5lb loss and this week is 4.25lb gain

Hi victory, can I just clarify these figures:are you saying that since your total weight loss of 78.5lbs on wed 19th dec chart,
you lost 1.5lbs on 23rd dec,
    and then gained 4.25 today
    which = 2.75lb gain since 19th Dec, so current total is 78.5 lbs less 2.5lbs = 75.75?

I am not sure now:rolleyes: because I lost 4lb with the knee, then gained 2 of those 4lb, then lost 1.5lb of the 4lb so was .5lb off getting rid of the gain, then gained 4.25lb this week so any mathematician among us, help yourself to work it out:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: all I know is that now I am 4.5lb heavier than I was last week when I lost 1.5lb.... I changed my sig to it so I have lost 5 stone and 7.5lb now on the last day of the year since Jan 4th 2007 whatever that equates to in pounds that is what it is 5stone and 7.75lb:D

79.5 weight converters says is 5 stone 7lb...

missygy excellent a loss is better than a gain! xxxx

I have learnt a lot though, I know I can do it, I have the motivation and determination and the lovely clothes to keep me going but I have also learnt in this festive season or any other party season that I cannot do it if I am surrounded by food!! I know I am fine if I can go to the shops, get my fruit and veg in along with my WW and feel safe then, I know there is nothing in the house that can jepordise me normally, I am safe in my little world, it is when it gets bigger that is the problem because I do too!!! xx

Right then victory: I've consulted my crystal ball, liaised with an astrologer and hung a dream catcher in my window :rotfl: .The results appear to show that 5st 7.5lbs = 77.5lbs, which means you are only 1lb heavier than your weigh in on 19th dec! (78.5 lbs total loss then).Which is brilliant. So you don't need to sweat about losing 4.5 lbs, as you are MAINTAINING :D . You forget you were chuffed with yourself for losing a few lbs the week before xmas as this gave you a buffer to eat more:beer:

  • Well, the buffet is all ready to go - although I did succumb to 4 cocktail sausages when they came out of the oven (catering for 6 kids as well) - but |I don't like them cold - so I promise to be good from now on.....
Have made my white wine into a spritzer with lemonade - although I'm allowing tonight off on the alcohol as I know most of the food is ok (apart from the sausages!!!)
Back tomorrow to Core - have plenty of stuff in as well. The roulade rolled really well when it was hot and then broke when I unrolled it to fill it - but I have patched it up - looks ok.
Have a good evening - I feel really positive already that I can do this and I am so inspired by the weight losses - Victory - I would be so chuffed if I thought I could be 5.5 stone lighter next Christmas and so would DH - he was used to me being a stick insect before the kids - so over 6 stone is a bit of a shock for him. The funny thing is I was pregnant when we moved to Belfast, so everyone here has always known me overweight whereas everyone in England knew me as thin - I don't think people here believe me when I tell them how light I reallly used to be. Still this is the year to show them.
    Happy New Year

BB - I'm so sorry to hear things are so rough, thank you for doing the chart. I would offer to have a go, but I'm new to it myself and I'd probably mess it up for everyone! Maybe in the future, although it doesn't sound like there's any shortage of volunteers! Congratulations on the 2 stone mark too by the way!

jillie1974, 2lb off this week is amazing! Congrats! :D

Victory, I bet it won't take long for that extra to come off. It wasn't long ago when I changed my routine and gained 4lb midweek which was gone by the next weigh in! This could be just the same thing! Even if not, you enjoyed it, and no it isn't "much" more than 3lb you said you expected. MUCH more would have been about 7lb!!! Also this is the WORST week in the year for food temptations and you don't have to face it again for another whole year!

Bails, ooh a hot stone massage! *sigh* I love all this MS stuff, feel free to pass on any grocery tips ;) Glad you are enjoying your quieter New Years Eve!

Petrichor, DIY liposuction lol! Congrats on your overall loss AND exceeding your target so much and staying there this year! As the newest member of the maintainers I'm counting on yourself, Suggs and Victory to guide me through 2008 :D

Grannynise, great to see you back and glad you had a great time! Enjoy tonight, the same goes to anyone else who is out celebrating!

I'm another of the "staying in" crowd tonight! Might do some more number crunching and see what MSE challenges I can set myself. Hehe.

Hi beanie - thanks for your good wishes and well done on sts.
New Year is another of those 'enforced jollity' times that can bring false expectations and seem as those everyone is having a good time but you can't it. I gave up on it years ago and enjoy a 'no expectation' evening. The simpler the better. It's a relief not to feel I have to be partying.
I was wondering where suggs was too and couldn't remember if he had gone away.
Is there anyway that come 2nd Jan you can throw out any extra food/sweets you haven't used and start afresh?

I'm back on again, can't keep away from MSE at mo; I am truly addicted :rotfl:New Year is whatever each of us want it to be and don't tell anyone tell you any different! OH is out clubbing in London with his uni mates and no doubt having a fab time, I'm here at home with the cats also having a great time; win win! I am looking forward to my New Year's kiss tomorrow though :o
Missy, I've started the Grocery Challenge and I think I've now joined the 4K Challenge, although I am still a little unsure of it like a few others. My overall aim is to try and save 5K this year, either through saving money or selling things to make it! I'm also simplifying my life and, of course, my ultimate goal is to get as well as possible in 2008. I'd love to hear what else others have found useful on here, I've spent most of my time in here and am now broadening my horizons :D
Off to simplify, then have a lovely long bath with a wine glass full of water (gave up drinking yesterday :D). May see you all a bit later xx
