We are indeed playing snap Vix, and your folder doesn't sound weird at all! Your boyfriend sounds like mine - I've been working on him but it's hard going! I've got a whole list on the go of things I want to get sorted, it keeps getting longer :D

  • Good Morning Everyone :hello:

Welcome to bargainbasement :j and thriftmonster :j You both sound as if you are well prepared for the road ahead and I wish both of you success and look forward to hearing more from you :T ...

...delly :grouphug: What a horrible Christmas, I sincerely hope that the New Year brings you better fortunes  ...

...Well Peeps, today was the dreaded post Christmas weigh-in shudder shudder and although I did gain, it was only 1.2 lb:dance:     I am so pleased happy117ht8.gifhappy117ht8.gifhappy117ht8.gifhappy117ht8.gif My first reaction was "I could have eaten more":rotfl: :rotfl: but then I thought about it and realised that I hadn't gone without anything that I wanted, I just ate it in sensible quantities, and to me, that's what it's all about. I don't have any of the horrible podgy, bloated ill feelings that I had this time last year. I will try and keep this to the front of my mind throughout 2008...

...I used a Slim Fast diary to record my food intake and weight throughout this year, and I acquired it via the freebie forum, but I can't find that there's one for this coming year. I've tried google but can't find another free one :o tight or what???:rotfl: So shall have to buy one I suppose, but it was so valuable to me this year that it will b worth it:j ...

...I shall try looking for these money saving/making things that a lot of you are on about, every little bit helps. So please put your ideas on here, as I'm quite new to that side of things :T ...Resolutions will be made too, I think you all know the main one :D but I want to do something with the new me, something where it's appreciated because there's been precious little of that in my life these past few years...

...Have a lovely day, and for those of you celebrating tonight I hope you have a great time. Beanie I shall expect you to remain sober :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ;) ...

    xxxx

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
  • Good morning everyone,

Off to Tesco in a minute with the shopping list (and family who want to come along - sigh) - now the menu is written out it looks quite nice.

Had a sneaky preview on the scales this morning and so far it looks like I've lost 2.5lbs since the WW weigh in - but you can never tell with their scales so I'm not counting anything till the 10th.

Has anyone seen the charm bracelets called "troll beads"? A friend bought her daughter one for Xmas and I think they're lovely. So for my birthday I'm going to have the basic chain, lock and stoppers - and then dh is going to buy me a bead of my choice for each stone lost, one for goal and then a new bead for each 3 or 6 months at goal (she says hopefully). I shall be able to look at my progress on my wrist, which will hopefully remind me to keep going. I thought of this last night and dh was supportive of the idea - so here goes.

Well done Petrichor on such a controlled gain - I'm sure it'll zip off quickly - I know what you mean about enjoying the non bloated feeling. Dh was pretty ill over Christmas so we were alone with the kids - and it's much easier not to overeat then.

  • just popped on to wish everyone a happy, healthy and slim New Year! (I probably won't get on here again before 2008 - so doing it now!)
Thanks for all your support and advice and just for being here. Hopefully we will all get to our goals in 2008, be it monetary or healthwise. Take care all xxx
If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.
  • Thanks Bargain Babe for the reminder

Happy New Year everyone and good luck!

Oh well done Petrichor! Only 1.2lb without particularly going without is excellent! What's your strategy for this week, getting it straight back off or are you going to take it a bit easier and wait until the following week? I'm so pleased for you because I know you were a bit nervous.

I was tempted to get on the scales this morning but my weigh in is usually at noon so I'm going to stick with that. It's the lack of exercise in the past week that will be my downfall (and 3 days of eating more than usual), plus not doing the twice daily school walk, but I'm fairly confident it's not too horrendous and I can step things up this week.

I've had 3 days of being ultra ultra careful about what I eat, and I am so looking forward to my favourite pasta bolognese meal later today! :D:D:D

Is anyone else weighing in today?
  • Dear lovely peeps :j

    ATTENTION:
INFO FOR THIS WEDNESDAY’S CHART. PLEASE READ

Peeps, I’m right poorly and need your help to do the chart this week. I asked delly to take it over for me and she so kindly said she would, but then I read what a rough time she’s having and don’t want to load it on her!
I’ve been virtually paralysed by this rampant arthritis, but am back to being able to sit up in a chair so doing the chart will be fine if you could all help as follows: below is a copy of everyone’s ‘total weight loss so far’ as recorded in the last chart (I amended a few errors, and I also realise I have accidentally missed off our wonderful maintainers from this copy ! Sorry guys – you will appear on wed). So, to save me trawling through the last 2 weeks of posts to work out who has lost what and when, could you all re-post between NOW and wed 6pm you weight loss (gains:o ?) since the last chart on 19th Dec and confirm what this brings your total weight loss to now, so I can ensure everything is as accurate as possible for the 1st chart of the new year.
I may have missed off a few new names from the chart – If you want to be included and are not listed, just post on the forum between now and wed 6pm. I will assume you are starting from zero loss unless you say otherwise. And anyone else like kpc who wants to start again, just let me now I will zero your totals as well.

Any newbies who don’t know what I am talking about can I refer you to the 1st post on this forum – If you still have questions, do post, and hopefully you other helpful peeps will answer any questions.
Hope this all makes sense – looking forward to those numbers flooding in
    Lots of love
    bb

  • Hi, Brighton Belle

Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad. If it's not too much trouble could I be added as a starter with zero loss. My first weigh in after Christmas will be Thurs 10th so I might not have any loss to record for the time being

    Many thanks

Hi thriftmonster: no it certainly isn't too much trouble. Doing the chart will be a theraputic distraction I've decided :D
