I expect if the spam cupcakes were placed in front of me, I would probably eat them as I seem to be eating everything in sight and BB I was right I had put on weight so hold off the chart for now as I have put on 2.5 lbs so being a bad girl (suggs I know you like to spank bad girls!) I have now only lost 5lb and it serves me right! Working in a nursery school I have been brought tons of chocolates, I know what each make is even without unwrapping - how bad is that! and we seem to have been brought even more choc than ever before, hubby has taken a tin to work but we now have four under the tree - I can't cope, my brain doesn't compute and say no and I shovel it in when I feel like it, even when I'm not really enjoying it, so that big HELP is needed here too.
Sorry for the rant, guys I just don't know whats wrong with me TOTM is at the mo, but thats no excuse really.
Oh and Merry Christmas! (I do mean that, though - I hope you all have a great time) xxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -

sore head? Hangover ? Huh! Some bloomin night out. We went out for dinner (quite nice considering the time of year) and then on to a local bar. I had ONE drink and it was rotten. I only ever drink bacardi and diet coke - which is what I asked for. What I got was some bleughy cheap white rum that tasted like paint stripper. Since we'd paid £5 each to get into the bar I could hardly ask my friends to go somewhere else.. I'd gone out dressed for a xmas night out with the girlies - black bustier, black trousers, high heeled boots and sparkly necklace and earrings thinking we'd go dancing. We ended up in a grunge bar with a band playing and were all totally overdressed.
It's just as well the company was good. Back on the wagon tomorrow I thinkGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
bargain babe I have just read im my mag that all unwanted xmas sweets/tins etc can be donated to the local hospital/hospice to save eating them, that sounds lovely but maybe a bit too generous:rotfl: :rotfl:
Maybe recycle the gifts to give to someone else?
It also says that to make a list and stick to it, do not over buy just because the shops are closed for 2 days, take a small amount of money with you just to cover the list so you do not feel tempted to deviate or better still send someone else to the shops with the list so you cannot buy anything else:D
Good tips there but I hear what you are saying, I have bacon in the fridge ready for the turkey and it is making me have difficulties in the mind:rotfl: all I can think of is that I have bacon in the fridge, there is many other things in there that are not to be opened or touched until xmas day but I know there is bacon in there and it is driving me mad:rotfl: :rotfl:
I have held over as many days as I can before even getting anything in and this year there really is all that we need and not masses of unnecesary extras like 4 tins of quality street, 1 each:D still hard though:D0 -

Hi Peeps
...:j :j :j Yay My SS is here :j :j , poor postie thought that there was someone else living here:rotfl:. I'm all excited now :santa2: ...
...Jolly quiet on here. I went to Tesco's earlier and it was so quiet there tooI was expecting a crush, not that I'm complaining
...
...Sorry to hear about your evening delly I hate it when you get shoddy imitations of the drink you want, I like whisky, but I've had some rubbish palmed off on me in the past...I'm worth $4350 :rotfl: :rotfl: what a laugh!!
...I'm pleased but also somewhat envious, about the help being given to you by the rest of your families concerning the amount of food to be in the home. I made it quite clear that I didn't want a pile of stuff left lying around after the new year, but I now have a tin each of Quality Street, Celebrations, Heroes and Roses. We don't eat much cake at the best of time but I can now see a Panettone, a plain Pandoro and a chocolcate Pandoro (all large ones), there are also 2 tins of Victoria biscuits. Kettle chips have been bought, the quantity of which must have put the manufacturer into it's biggest profit margin ever. I'll stop there, honestly there is more  :rotfl: . I've been so good during the year and have been really strict with myself, whilst still giving the family the stuff that they liked. I think the least they could have done was listen to me and bought just some of the stuff, but not in the bl**dy quantity that is here before me :rotfl: ...
...Time now for today's festive picture-

Morning All
Im off to London later, taking MrsSuggs to see Hairspray as part of her Chrissie PressieI still suffering with the dreaded Bronchitis, but hopefully I wont disturb too many tonight with the coughing
Bargainbabe, I would like to offer my services of a sound spanking, but I very much doubt I could rise to the occasion, sounds like your job suffers with the Christmas Chocolate Hazard, MrsSuggs works in a school. So the advice is like Victory's "give it away" if you can bear itor just allow Christmas to be a time of enjoyment. The spanking can always be saved for the new year
Victory, when you think bacon, remember the tin of chocolate and when you think of chocolate, remember the bacon, Then think of bacon wrapped chocolateit might just put you off
Delly, sorry to hear your night out wasnt the dance party you hoped for, the barcardi trick, like vodka, is still around I guess, but how comes you ended in a bar that didnt match the bustier, or was it decided on the night?? Hopefully this picture might raise your spirits?
Petrichor, try to worry too much, you levels of self control have been great and Im sure you can resist just a little more
Christmas for me, foodwise, will start probably Christmas Eve and yes I will enjoy it, the chocolate, the turkey, the bacon, the veggies (Yummy!) My children will turn up on boxing day lunchtime and its a buffet for themOn the whole shopping has been done with me and my health in mind, but there has and will be allowances
after all it is christmas and a couple of bad days does not a ruined month make.
Off to get ready, Have a good day all

Pet are you standing behind the picture and throwing the snow again?
I went to Borough Market yesterday ... it's a complete yuppie foodie heaven. You can [STRIKE]buy[/STRIKE] resist all sorts of delicious things that would be so ideal for a Christmas buffet (always assuming that money was no object of course). My biggest tempataion in the Christmas food stakes is stollen and they had beautiful hand made stollens on several stalls. (price for not v big one ..... £7.50  ) and I resisted. The price helped. Every stall offers you tasters of everything before you buy... I probably ate more cheese as tasters than I'd have usually eaten in a week.
So in the end I bought foodie gifts for a few friends who we see at New Year (e.g. walnut and date chutney, and the person who sold it had made it from the walnuts in her garden she said) some olives and a little bit of cheese for me. If you're in London DON'T GO THERE. It is just all too tempting.0 -
Hello gorgeous lot, how are we all doing this fine weekend?
First a confession, I haven't really kept to the straight and narrow this week (unusual for me). I went over my calorie allowance on Tuesday and yesterday. I need to try to compensate this weekend, so I'm on two ultra-strict days with two tough workouts.
I have worked too hard for my weight loss to see it go back on over Christmas, I love my new figure and I simply won't allow myself to gain any more than it would take about a week to deal with afterwards. I'm hoping not to gain at all - and that means a mixture of suitable restraint and extra exercise, there's no other way (is there?)
Delly, re the chocolate just a suggestion, perhaps work out what you'll allow yourself per day, and physically put them into a sealed bag or envelope with the day written on it. I know people use that principle when they've got a set amount of cash to last them the week!
$6025 for my body to medical science, haha. I feel quite pure.
I'm envious of the glamming up and evenings out going on, I don't think my sexy boots will be getting an outing this winter at all. Ah well! I shall enjoy the simple pleasure of pasta bolognese for lunch
Suggs, hope you have a good time, you're a real trooper keeping your date with Mrs Suggs while you're not feeling good.
Hope you're all having a good weekend whatever you're up to0
