Good to hear you enjoyed your meal Victory! And your soak in the bath!

KPC, let us know how it goes with the dancing, hope that does the trick for you! Is that a new sig I spy?

Brighton Belle, please may I go on the chart next time as a maintainer? The 5lb/month loss target was always a little too much for me (though I would have made it this month!) so that's why I asked not to be included before, but there is no excuse now :D My total loss to date is 36lb. Thanks x

Petrichor - yeah, the trousers have had an outing at last! Please will you eat now because 3 pears isn't enough! Well done again on the step count, how many miles is that in a week roughly?

I had a really lovely surprise today, I was expecting a bit of money which I thought would be about £25, or £100 at the very maximum, and it actually turned out to be £650! I have overspent lately :o so this is massively welcome, it more than covers all my purchases!
  • thanks for doing the chart bb - i'm missed off, but that probably cos' I'm gonna weigh really heavy tonight and you already knew! lol xx I lost .5lb last week but i'm sure i've put on this week so we'll see for next time the charts out.

Hey, I'm really sorry Bargain babe - I missed your sunday post for some reason (sack cloth and ashes) and because you didn't appear to have posted for the first 2 weeks of dec I assumed you weren't doing the dec challenge. shall alter the chart for next time (does this mean your total loss is 7.5lbs beore wi tonight?)

Delly -Your turns for apologies now. I think I must have got confused by the WW debacle where they told you one thing, then another. So as you missed out on the glory last night, I think you deserve a special mention
gavel.gif AHEM, ATTENTION PLEASE. PLEASE NOTE MS DELLYBELLY, OUR IRISH BELLE OF THE BALL, WAS NOT ONLY SOTW, SHE ALSO, YES, SHE ALSO ACHIEVED THE DECEMBER WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE OF 4LBSinnocent0006.gif

Suggs, that was a great experience at the surgery and well deserved. Being acknowledged can be so fundamental to our well being I think.
    Missyg: will add you on.

Starlight - I've been PM'ing you please, pretty please, get in touch re SS xx
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • yup, missy, been looking at sigs and thought it would be a good idea to put things down in black and white - helps me focus! Whoevers doing the chart next can you reset me to a big fat zero? I want to start again from scratch.

Not going to be dancing yet - they didn;t have the game at the computer shop so just bought a couple on ebay - will see when they arrive.

surely it would be easier for that santa to be naked? after all, he's going to get all covered in . . . .soot, and skins easier to clean than clothes, yes? Off to make something to go on my cupcake holder for tomorrow. . . . .. spam cupcakes. They are the vilest sounding things imaginable but actually quite tasty. You have to grate spam in the food processor to make it and it puts me right off eating them. It smells like doggy poo. They are 'iced' with mashed potato. As i'm having a green day today i can scoff the leftover mash, yay! Maybe i ought to take a picture?
  • Suggs - sorry to hear about your bronchitis. I hope you feel better soon.
I have to say, well done on the reaction from your GP though - I bet that brought your confidence right up and it's so unusual to get praise from a Dr about weightloss, they're usually obsessing with the amount you have left to lose!

victory - I'm glad you had a good dinner and a long soak in the bath. I can see you're an all or nothing kind of gal and I totally understand why you find it so difficult to let go now that you've acheived your goal weight. A little treat will be good for you now and then. Enjoy it while you have it, but also enjoy all the lovely clothes you can wear. By the way, did you get anything nice to wear for Christmas from the boot sales?

petrichor - halo? What halo? oh she with the coffee splattered computer screen...... did you not like my well placed christmas tree? Go ahead and ask Suggs for the the naked aussie rugby players calender - My mind has worked so much overtime, all I can see in my head is naked Alf Roberts from Home and Away or Naked Harold Bishop/Lou from Neighbours..... bleugh!

Homm, some advice here guys..... Where I work has had a lot of company reps calling in and leaving gifts - usually tins of sweets. We opened a tin yesterday and I had 4 out of it (a total of 5 points!) without even thinking about it Today I've had 3. I went over my points yesterday but am still withink my allowance today. So, 2 of the tins I was given were given away, but I still have one tin of Roses.... but now I'm worried about how I can find a balance over Christmas. I'm halfway between panicking at undoing all the hard work I've done in the past 4 months and saying sod it, it's christmas.......

    HELP

What should I do, considering my willpower is crumbling and it's only December 20th! (this is why I can understand where you're at Victory!)

  • beanielou - I have to confess, I took a typing class when I was 17. I didn't get any qualifications from it but it's been really useful for Uni etc.

As for speed. I found that chatting on internet chatrooms are great for helping your typing speed, cos if you don't keep up with them all, you're left behind (also got a man on a chatroom once wayy back before the days of facebook and bebo and even msn messenger but that's a whole other story - )

kpc - I'll alter the chart. New year, new start. Sounds good psychology.
delly - I feel you derserve a well thought out response -but my brain is addled and I'm crashing into bed pronto. I'm sure other peeps will be more up to the job though. But you are not going to undo all your good work. Take it half a day at a time. 5 chocs a day for a few days needn't mean your whole plan crashing round your ears. Try not to have too much (any?)temptation in the house, knowing you'll face plenty 'out there'. Remember how great it felt to be SOTW and to pass your first stone. You've now lost 19lbs!! That's fantastic - you've got leeway to put a couple back on so don't panic - keep posting. This is about a sustainable way of eating for life - cope with xmas, the hardest time of the year probably, and come Jan you'll be flying. You've come too far and you've got us too: you won't fall far before picking yourself up.

I'd suggest that the answer is in your question .... 'without even thinking about it'. DO think about it and if you want the sweets eat them. But if you are eating without thought and you don't actually want them then save your points for something you do want ... If eating without thinking was an Olympic sport I could get a gold for Britain. Don't deny yourself all the treats, it is Christmas and there are just too many temptaions around to be saying no ALL the time, but be sure that you choose when to give in. Probably applies to life in general, not just eating ....

Knowing that I will have a bit of chocolate or a glass of wine or whatever later in the evening makes it much easier to resist during the day I find.

Hope that helps, it just sounds bossy now I've read it over. Sorry
  • Thank you Brighton belle and grannynise. I'll admit I'm in a bit of a panic because work is my "safe" place. I rarely take enough money to work to buy anything other than what I'd strictly need. I never have food in the office or eat at my desk, so the availablilty of the chocolates are an unusual thing. I normally have my treat at night and I've now started to have the treat sized bars of cadbury chocolate that are only 2 points - I'd rather have the 2 point bar of cadbury's than 2 quality street or roses for 2.5 points. Thankfully, I only have a few hours to work tomorrow morning and christmas eve before I'm off until 2nd January and I've made sure I've had more control over my home environment.
