starlight:j :j :j
jillie welcome
sts this week, miffed and happy mixed together, being ultra ultra good this week as can see all the xmas goodies around me at work, in shops etc at home but fortunately had the sense to buy the freezer stuff, not got a tin of biscuits or quality street yet lying around so it is all focus focus so that next 25/26 and now 27 because the mother is here for the buffet/take away, whatever she decides to do so instead of 2 days of food then 5 days good until NYE and NYD, it is now 3 bad 'uns, hey ho need to eat less now to incorporate them into the weight maintain, I feel better not having all the nuts, dates, figs, cakes, mince pies etc all around not that I eat dundee cake, xmas pudding ,mince pies, cherry cake etc H does and he likes them so I buy them but not this year, he has a mini xmas pud, he had loads of mince pies at work so is alrady fed up with them:D
Never baked my xmas cake that gets done in Sep this year either, H is the only one that eats it as kids find it too rich, strong tasting so asked him and he said not to bother, bless him:D nor brandy snaps that I used to make, no pork pies as H read an article on what they put in them and how much salt there is in them that put him off for life, nor have I made my scotch eggs this year, nor home made sausage rolls, crumbs we are not going to get anything at this rate:rotfl: :rotfl:
BOUGHT The cranberry sauce instead of making it this year, H loves it, never have bread sauce, got pigs in blankets that are WW versions, the only thing we are keeping is my home made yorkshires, kids love them as they come up really big, very Jamie oliver:rotfl: :rotfl: roasties in goose fat as there is no other way to have them:D oh it is so going to be a lean xmas:rotfl: :rotfl:
I am sticking to the satsumas;)0 -
Hi all
Still trying to catch up on all the posts.
Well done Missy on reaching your target and Starlight for only being a couple of pounds away from 9 stone.
I'll reply to everyone elses posts later on when I get a chance.
Just wanted to post a 1lb gain this week - although I did expect it to be more as I was eating for Scotland last week - everything in sight so back to week one again.0 -
You mean there's another type Victory?
Can hear my stomach rumbling at the thought of all those homemade goodies that you listed tho... Sounds like your place is a good place to be at Christmas!
Hi Jillie, hope the scales say something friendly when you go see them!
Bails, your NYE plan sounds fantastic! I've taken the easy option this year - am looking after my cousins children, ones 2, the other is 6months, and then I've got my sister (15) and her friend (16) here as well, while everyone else goes out... They can keep their hangovers, I've got popcorn and girly movies all night!
Many, many big hugs for you KPC, keep smiling hun
Right... Off to stare at the pile of washing thats sitting near the machine... Maybe it'll magically sort itself out and jump in! No? Shame...**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
I'm having a break between the fun and jollity of school and then going to a quiz where I'm on the special needs team. (That's the people who work as special needs admin, psychologists etc before you all get the wrong idea) They have foolishly asked me to join them in the mistaken belief that I will be able to answer questions. I'll let you know how I get on. I have no general knowledge at all so will be inventing my answers as I go along.
Thank you for the replies about the pass the parcel. I'm glad my memory wasn't letting me down about that. Pet I'm really sorry for bringing back your memories of deprivation at not EVER wining pass the parcel. Next time we do a secret present swap I'll make you a many layered parcel that you can unwrap all by yourself. Or have you thought of wrapping up Mr Pet and then unwrapping him?;) By the way, tell us about the pie, please!
Well done ffmonkey! You must be chuffed as a chuffed thing to have reached your target.
Missyg thanks for sharing the photos. you look really great. I love the way you're demonstrating the inches lost with that tape measure. One day, one day ....
Victory you know that you are an inspiration to us all.You have such helpful advice for others who are following on in the path that you've previously trodden and learning from you.
Are you feeling better now Suggs?
Emmalis, the terrible twos have stolen almost every child in my school, what ever age they are. It's the excitement of all these parties, seeing Santa and all the rest of the long build up to the big day. I think it just gets to them. Your angel will be back soon I'm sure. Your pictures are lovely.
Well done Dragon! 25.5 pounds is just magnificent.
"I fell in a box of turkeys - fortunately wrapped and have just helped pack a few hundred frozen ones - some of which attacked me"
KPC you can't blame the turkeys for trying to get their own back, they don't like Christmas. You're obviously going through a pretty bad point today ... I think you've answered your own question as to why ... you're tired out. And (please excuse me if I'm totally talking out of my a***) you sound as if you're a control freak (as I am myself). Successful in most of what you do, so why does this particualr area of your life seem to be so difficult to control? I wish I knew the answer. I can so totally relate to the scenario of re-hanging the washing, trying to do everything and having no energy for exercise of ANY form. I think we just have to accept ourselves as we are, do the best we can and not beat ourselves up.
Pixiedust I can't remember what sort of eating plan you're on. If you do SW you can actually eat LOADS, so your mum could satisfy her desire to feed you up, without it actually being a problem for you.
Never done such a long post before but I seemed to have a lot to catch up on. Off to learn stuff for the quiz now.0 -
well i've been and i was shocked!!
knew i had out weight on but not sooo much!!!
now weight 12st 11lb !!! i'm only 5ft 2"
this is my heaviest to date and i feel crap...
sorry to moan'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
KPC your post really worries me, you seemed so positive last time and now this
If you really are binge eating and making yourself sick please go and see your GP and get referred to someone who can help because this isn't good for you at all - I don't mean to sound harsh.
You do not have a huge weight problem, I've seen some of your pics and I'd be surprised if you'd be considered particularly overweight (and you certainly don't have an attractiveness problem). Is there any way you might be able to be happy just maintaining your current weight? If not and you still want to enjoy your food the way you do, the key is to find some time for more exercise. I realise that's easier said than done.
The thing is, none of us need to be superwomen. Why are you doing housework twice a day when it's just you and OH living there (sorry if I'm making assumptions it's just the 2 of you). You obviously have very high standards in the home but could you let them slip a bit to have a more relaxed lifestyle? It really sounds like something has to give.
Anyway **hugs** I hope writing your post helped you a bit and we are here for you any time you need to talk about it. I'm glad you have your OH as well, he obviously adores you0 -
Bails, I can honestly say your idea of New Year sounds wonderful and very much like what I always do anyway! If you are normally a party girl then perhaps it sounds a bit strange to you, but it sounds perfectly normal to me! I've never been a pubbling/clubbing type. I don't drink, never have, and I don't particularly like being anywhere crowded while people are boisterous and drinking.
If you want to party, then by all means go out and party but if you'd rather do the things you've mentioned then you shouldn't need to justify them to yourself. Relaxation and massage isn't dull, it's a fabulous treat!
Maybe you'll miss the social side but think what you'll also be missing - freezing cold outside, packed public transport, no taxis, price hikes, god knows what trouble going on in the streets, a massive dent in your wallet, and a hangover.
Love from,
Boring Old Missy0 -
thanks guys, granny, you are right, I am a total control freak and thats probably why i get wound up about stuff.(rofling at your special needs pub quiz!) Missy, i'm not making myself sick thats not it at all - remember that Jo Brand joke? 'I'm a bulimic, except I haven't mastered the throwing up bit'. Thats in rather poor taste but probably fairly close! I seem to have come across some of sort of psychotic hyacinth bucket type constantly cleaning but it's all the general housey stuff that we all have to do that i'm trying to keep up with - washing, ironing, cooking, doing the dishes, keeping the worktops and the bathroom reasonably clean. But you are definitely right that I need to let go of it a bit more. And you said what I needed someone to say to me - I HAVE to find time to exercise.
And welcome Jillie - normally we're much more upbeat than this, honestly! DOn't beat yourself up - I've got custody of the self flagellation stick for today, you can have it in a couple of days when I've done with it.( Down Suggs! Down!) I'll be back on form in a few days I'm sure. TOTM seems to be hitting hard this month which ain't helping.0 -
big hugs to those who need them, this time of year tends to add to the problems we often manage to overcome easily, I know I am a bit of a dragon at the moment (sorry dragon!) but i can't help it, think I am a bit over- excited about the impending Christmas, so emmalis, i think I might be going through the terrible twos (or thirty-somethings!)
Have stuffed my face at school with the chocs the kids have brought in, dreading the weigh in this week and have lost all control as well, so anyone else in the same situation, its happening to lots of us!
SS was sent yesterday, so hope whoever gets it ejoys opening it!
Love the piccies again, I am not so brave, maybe when i have lost a bit of weight I will share with you, right now I would feel too embarassed, even though I feel you are all friends (sorry!)
Take care for now and will catch up again soon xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0
