Hello everybody, good news from me :j
I have lost a whopping 2.5lb this week! Anyone who's seen my progress since joining this thread will know I've only ever posted in fractions of a pound (or 1lb at the most) in a week, so this is really special for me.
And yes, that means I've made my goal of 8.5 stone (actually 1lb under!) I feel so happy! Everyone who advised me to ease up and not push myself so hard, you were so right and I'm really seeing the difference since I turned that corner.
I've decided to stick at this weight and not go for another half stone, but I am going to continue my diet for this week while I work out a plan for maintaining, and also to hopefully lose just a little more for a small temporary buffer
Can't thank you guys enough, this last half stone really had been a complete and utter £$%^&* but you helped me get there!
:j
What a wonderful Christmas present to yourself!! Well done - and I an only a teensy bit jealous!!:p

Have to report a 1/2 pound gain today.:o
I thought I had been really good this week too! However when I returned from SW and told my daughter that I had gained a half pound she said she wasn't surprised!
Looks like I had an attack of food amnesia again - untill she reminded me that I had:
1. daily mince pie - only 1 though
2. a few belgium chocolates
3. early Xmas dinner for a friend who has to work Xmas day - including pud
4. some of my daughters chips
5. some cheese and crackers and few glasses of wine on Friday night
6. twisted ankle plus cold prevented doggie walkies so no exercise either!
AND - I swear to you guys when I stepped on the scales and found the half pound gain - I had totally blanked the above out of my mind!:o
Looks like I really really need to be writing everything down before it gets eaten.
We have a meeting Christmas eve morning and then none for 2 weeks:eek:
I will be good untill then but I have already informed my family that Christmas day is a free day for me! Wish me luck everyone.
All the best

Good luck marion, oh yes xmas day and boxing day are def going to be a free day here in this house, yum yum, being good till then also:D
They say the colourful foods seem more appetizing, have less calories, fats, sugars etc so instead of nuts, sugared fruits etc this xmas I have bought satsumas, lovely bright orange colour and my DS and H love them, so do I if I could get a look in!! They have been a great sucess and no one so far has asked where the nuts etc have gone and just enjoying the satsumas so it has been a very succesful swap, that is my first swap let's see how the resto f them go down!!
So far I have had no crisps of any kind in for the kids for the last 2 weeks and apart from a lot of moaning at the beginning, there has been no more and they know there are none so don't bother asking, saves money, saves them eating fat, even though you can by low cal ones etc but they have trasnfered the munchies or the habit of crisps to crackers, ryvita biscuits, yogurts, carrots (yes chopped carrots!) brown wholemeal bread for toast, and just now satsumas!0 -
  Don't mention the pie!!!

...Marion It's surprising how quickly the little things can mount up unnoticed, but don't worry, it's a 1/2lb quick gain and will soon be shed :j ...
...emmalis What lovely photos, your little girl looks so angelic, is she really the same one that tested your patience yesterday?:D ...
...Well festive picture time again -xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Wow! The pics look fab missyg, you should be really, really proud of yourself
Good luck with that 2lbs Starlight - that would be a great Christmas present!
Loving the idea of swapping things Victory, unfortunately, Christmas at home, having to put up with whatever my mother buys/cooks is getting frustrating already - and I've only been home since Saturday! I don't think I'd realised how much, not rubbish, but definately very fatty, foods she cooks. Having lots of food around has always had a very warped connection to being cared for at home, so my mum becomes very upset if I leave anything on my plate or ask for a smaller portion. Luckily, both her and my dad are at work all day, so trying to do as much damage control as I can with breakfast and lunch! I think this just means I will have to try very, very hard to achieve as much loss as I can between January and end of term, in May, when I'll be home for 3 very long months! Might have to nip out and buy myself a bag of oranges tho - could happily sit and munch on those!
Maybe jelly too.... Mm.... Jelly...**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
Aw Emmalis! You sound really overworked at the moment. Is your OH pulling his weight at home? If I lived closer I'd pop over and give you a hand with some chores! Thanks for posting up your pics! You look very glam and your hair must grow fast if it's long now already!
Congrats on the losers so far this week! Dragon :j Starlight :j Ooh Starlight so close to that stone barrier, we need to keep you on the straight and narrow this week! Good luck everyone still to weigh in.
Bails, I have been giving your 20p challenge a bit of thought but it's a tough one! You actually have to make money WITH the 20p I take it? (So you can't just keep the 20p and do a bit of babysitting on the side?)
Petrichor, I've put the pics upI do want to share them with you guys and I thought PMing would be an OK compromise, but as the tumbleweeds are blowing through my PM inbox I guess I was wrong :rotfl: (haha no that's not true, a few people did ask to see them so thanks guys). And I felt sooo privileged to have my own special Petrichor banner!
:D:D Thank you!!!
KPC I can just imagine you with that new cake stand of yours! You will have to show us a pic of it full up with your creations as I bet it will be better than the display picture there (someone obviously hasn't heard of less is more - though does that apply to cakes decorations? Hehe).
Funkyfunkymonkey, oops! I'm sure you don't really look like you're about to have your 3rd after ONE meal, but very amusing!
Retiredlady, thank youAs you can see from my sig my next major goal is to become Retiredlady2 although that's still a way off so I'm going to need a new interim goal now! I just love setting myself targets and going all out to achieve them! I might try something WAY outside my comfort zone next. We'll see!
Victory - mmm, crisps! I used to eat loads and they were definitely my downfall. I've actually ordered some on my next grocery order (low cal) but it's been so long since I've had them, I don't know if I will even like them now. My tastes have really changed.
SuggsShall we send Delly's Mrs Claus round? Hope you feel much better very soon.
Pixiedust thank you so much, I have never felt better than I do at this weight and I'm determined to keep it off, if I'm any heavier this time next year then I'll consider it a failure. I'm sorry things are a struggle for you at home, it must be so difficult when you aren't in control of what food comes into the house. Extra congrats are due to anyone who's in that situation but still managing to lose weight.0
