Jillie1974, welcome! You're in the right place now, and if you need any help making your plan to lose the weight, you know where we are! We've all had that moment where we looked at the scales and went  - we wouldn't be here otherwise!

Oh KPC I'm so relieved to read your new post! I haven't heard that Jo Brand joke before :rotfl:

There does seem to be a bit of underlying stress going on here lately. What I want to know is when did Christmas become SO food-orientated? I can understand the Christmas dinner part, sitting down with the family and enjoying a lovely meal, but it seems to have expanded into a whole week's worth of pigging out and I don't get that at all.

Well my three pairs of size 8 trousers arrived today. Two of them fit, one is too tight (all from the same store so it should be they all fit or none fit really ). I don't particularly like any of them though so I think they're going back and I will have to make do till well into the New Year when the shops get back to normal.

I ate crisps and Haribo Supermix today for the first time in weeks, if not months - so I'm off for a workout now! :D
  • Grannynise, I was doing RC, although to be honest, SW is probably the only one I haven't had a go at at some point!! Recently, I've just been cutting out the snacking and making the main meals a bit healthier, which has been doing the trick for me (apart from the occassional gain, but hey, everyones allowed a bad week here and there!). I'm almost convinced to stop worrying for the next 2 weeks, but I don't want to undo what I've already done... So I'll just keep doing what I have been - angelic breakfasts/lunch, make sure I'm getting some excercise in during the day, and then smiling sweetly at whatever mum serves up. It won't kill me to keep her happy while I'm home. Think I might spend the next couple of weeks trying to come up with a "proper" plan for when I go back to uni as well - got 5 months of term, to do as much as possible, before coming back home again!!

WHOA there KPC, you can't be keeping the stick for that long, else I'll have to resort to using my Christmas tree...and at all 2 ft of it, it aint gonna give much thwack! :D

Jillie, I'm sorry the scales were naughty and told you nasty things but now you can focus on what you want your goal to be and how you can get there. If you can bear it, get someone to take a photo of you now - this may seem like an horrendous idea, but it will be a wonderful reminder of just how far you've come when you are at target! Just check out Suggs' photos to prove my point. (You don't need to show it to anyone if you don't want to, it's just something some of us have been doing recently).

I think you mentioned going back to WW in Feb. Do you have any plan of attack from now til then? I understand today has been hard but it really is the first step to sorting things out. Good luck and keep posting x

Bargain babe, I'm with you! And there's no need to apologise about the photos, it's completely everyone's choice.

Thanks for the comments about NYE, feeling better about it. I would like to see my friends in Manchester, they're having a meal and playing party games which would be fun, it's just that I'll have been to mid Wales and Brighton by then and I just don't think I can face the travelling on top of everything else. I go back to work on the 3rd anyway so I wouldn't have time to recover and I really want to start the new year off well. If and when we move up there, we can have nights like that all the time!

  • beanie smackbumlc2.gifand granny smackbumlc2.gif.. they're for mentioning the pie :o ...and as for unwrapping MrP :rotfl: :rotfl: ...

...Welcome jillie welcoehithernicetomeetycy1.gifHow lovely of you to join us at this time of year and avoiding the new year rush :D . Well done on getting weighed too, it's always a shock but it would be worse to ignore it, as a lot of us here can testify :o . So have a lovely Christmas and meanwhile find a plan that suits you :j ...

...kpc I'm pleased that you're a bit more upbeat now, your earlier post felt to me that it came straight from the heart :grouphug:. Can I ask just how overweight you are? Please ignore this if you don't want to say, I'll understand. I popped over to facebook to see if I could find those pics (?) but I'm quite new to it, and all I could find was your list of friends (some of whom I recognise :D ). Anyway, try and take things as easily as you can, and when you delegate a task, just accept it as it is, your world won't collapse if it's not up to your exacting standards. I think that you may be a bit of a perfectionist, (oh crumbs now I've reminded myself of the pie aaaargh!!!:D ) are you? This is the hardest time of year for all adults, and as missy (?) said earlier, why does it go on for so long? It's gone beyond a mere couple of day, which really, is all we need...Which brings me to...

...Bails It's been years since we saw in a new year, I find it incredibly boring. The only time I stay up past the midnight is if there's a good film on on the tv (and if it's interrupted for the chimes, then:mad: :rotfl: )...

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Hi peeps, thanks for the photos, good to 'meet' people! Well done on the losses this week, and extra motivation for Starlight to help you reach the 9 stone mark; what an amazing achievement that will be!
Having problems with TOTM at mo, v strange, so cant tell what's going on weight wise really.
Christmas and New Year are doing my head in, feel like they're getting in the way of getting on with things and getting well - not very festive of me, I know! If I'm honest, I think I've just run out of patience with being ill and really, really want to be well (relatively speaking, BB) and have a life again. To those of you who have been struggling with illness and injury for a lot more years than me, I have total repsect and admiration. I thought I was a patient person when I worked in EBD, then my illness taught me a whole new level of patience; now I feel I need to step it up to the next level, but feel as if I have none left! Any ideas gratefully received...
I wanted to ask your opinion on something (it's indirectly WL related, will that do?) - I'm thinking of giving New Year a miss, what do you think? Well, not that I won't be celebrating, just not in the usual way. I had this idea to go to my relaxation class in the morning, have another lovely massage in the afternoon (with the money I would've spent getting to Manchester/going out) and then get an early night. I know this may sound v dull but my thinking is this - the best present I can give to myself is to get well and therefore get back to some sort of fulfilling life. I would rather concentrate on making that happen than spend the night getting drunk until the early hours, which will have a knock on effect for several days (or more). Am I being silly? honest opinions please, no offence will be taken (even if the boot comes out!). Thanks.

Start the new year as yu mean to go on bails...treat and look after yourself...
No one will judge you for not braving Manchester...Given the option I'd try and stay away from the madness as well!!
  • hello lovely peeps
so many people to reply to, too little energy. BUt I am busy collecting your losses (and gains) for my little black book for the chart tomorrow.

I shall have to be PM'ing some of you on the secret santa front. Get them in the post peeps ( she say smugly, mine went off today, and funnily enough, it does need batteries:D ).
katie pc. What a horrid day you are having, epsecially after feeling so good the other day. I think you are worn out and that is probably key to it all. When I am very tired I tend to eat in the subconscious hope of getting energy from food. But even half an elephant doesn't perk me up. hug.gif to you and bails.
I'm not having a ball myself, though there should be little problem with over indulging this Xmas: my jaw joint has now painfully seized and I can barely get any food in my mouth let alone chew. MMmmm liquidised turkey and spuds here we come :rotfl: Knee so swollen I need 2 sticks to walk anywhere. Where me bath chair and checked rug?
New year - wouldn't get us going anywhere: a few foodie treats and jules holland normally do us, then endless fireworks go off round here at midnight. Then drousy in a warm bed recounting all the nice memories of this year and perhaps a few plans for next, of which 99.9 % we won't do. Lovely

    I dursn't mention the pie...

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Hi Everyone,

kpc - hope you're feeling better soon. Everyone has a meltdown every now and again. What you need to weigh up is, how much do you want to lose weight compared to how much you enjoy your lifestyle as it its. Also, I would say, working 2 jobs plus keeping on top of the housework (men are messier than children - take it from me I know) I wouldn't think you'd need to do too much additional exercise. Try one simple change - don't eat after a certain time at night. I've made my cut off time 8pm which allows me a small treat after DS goes to bed but not to allow a binge.

    Welcome jillie:j

have a great time at the quiz grannynise - the thing about general knowledge is that it's also known as uselss information and you never know how much you have stored in your brain until you go to something like a pub quiz.;)

Pet - sorry to hear that the pie didn't work out. I'm not asking how it went cos I don't want my botty smacked:o

Oh, by the way - 2.5lbs off for me this week please brighton belleI'm just that wee 0.5lb away from being in the next stone No WI at WW until next year:eek: :rotfl: 8th January to be precise. I might still WI next week (hmm, xmas day? Maybe not!) But I do know that my scales weight 0.5lb lighter than WW now so at least I can judge better.

I am so carp at facebook. I keep looking for you guys and can never figure out if the person that I'm looking at is the person I think I'm looking for. So, please, find me on Facebook. My name's Edel Doherty. You'll know it's me cos the profile pic is of the fluffy ginger pigdog and lois lane (anne barby) is one of my (very few) friends.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
