We won! No thanks to me as I couldn't answer any of the questions about 'celebrities' I'd never heard of --- but I basked in the glory even though it was undeserved.

missy g- i would be eternally greatful for any ideas to get me through jan! or indeed that may help me save money as well by not starting ww or sw

Not sure I'm the best person to be offering advice, others have got this dieting lark down to more of a fine art than me! But here goes! As a start I would recommend:
    • cut down (or cut out) snacking on cakes, crisps, biscuits, sweets etc. Same goes for alcohol (if you drink).
    • don't eat within at least 2 hours before bedtime
    • drink lots of water, i try to drink an equal amount of water for every "other" drink I have
    • replace things like butter, white bread, frosted cereals with their healthier equivalents
    • walk as much as you can and do a bit of extra exercise each week
Looking forward to hearing how you get on!

Delly congrats on the fab 2.5lb loss! :T Oooh so close to the next stone! :D

Vix - you cheeky thing! Haha! By the way I think my boobs have shrunk in the last two weeks and I've only just bought new underwear, dammit.

    Congrats on the win Grannynise!

KPC, what about buying an exercise bike or a cross trainer for your house? It's so easy then to fit in 20 mins of exercise here and there. I had a great workout today, the MP3 player goes on and I chill out to my favourite songs and hardly notice I am exercising sometimes.

I've booked a massage for Thursday, a present to myself for achieving my weight goal. Can't wait! Then this weekend I will be getting my heart rate up while watching Eurosport ;)

Good morning and huge hugs to anyone that needs it, just read through the posts and it seems we could all do with them:D you know the one thing that is best kept in the very front of the mind, is that it will get better, it is not as bad as it seems, my mother always used to say expect the worse and get the best:D time, patience and understanding will make it better. Rome was not built in a day.

I sympathize greatly with people in pain brighton belle because that is me daily but I try so very hard to remain positive and a less than yesterdays painful day is a bonus for me, so I dash about doing this and that making the most of it.

    Morning all.

Here to report a 0.5lb loss this week which i am happy with (thanks BB for the cahrt in advance). Grannynise, I am sure that you can take a turn with the chart. My feeling is, the more people we have involved, the less of a chore it is for any one person and the more of us who are committing (long term) to stick with the thread and weight loss. I am sure dellydelly (and BB) wouls be happy for you to take a turn - I am!

Morning al898i - ooh, a little message from the kitten for you there! :D

Well, I'm back up to 12 stone, which I'm trying to be philosophical about  I think some of it is definitely down to the bizarre TOTM but also not being up to sticking to the plan at the mo. So my buffer for Christmas is currently out the window, although I'm going to try and claw a bit back over the next few days. So BB, it's a 3lb gain for me.

I am (trying) to feel a bit better (helped by a lovely PM from BB, thank you). Sat down yesterday and wrote down all the ways I can help improve my health and am going back to setting targets each week. I feel a little more in control again, rather than being controlled. We also had an early night (not that sort of early night!) as OH was feeling rough, and a good 10 hours sleep, which helps a lot - I took the opportunity to point out (nicely) that that's how I feel every night when we don't go to bed til gone midnight; I think he listened (only taken me 2 years+!:D).
Thanks for all the NYE reassurance, I'm quite looking forward to my plan now. I just have to check the gym and salon will be open...

Well done to everyone reporting losses or maintains, my hat goes off to you at this time of year. I hope most peeps are sticking around over Christmas and NY?

We're thinking of heading to Wales on Saturday - my idea as I love being near the hills, the downside being that I'll be within reach of all the Christmas food even earlier! I'm hoping the hills will inspire me to get out in them though so at least I'll be doing some exercise too.

Have a great day everyone, and a great final week before Christmas! xx
