Victory, sorry you're having a bad time with those naughty elevated numbers :( Hope thing get better soon, does it normally take long for them to go back down? (Please excuse my ignorance).

No ignorance whatsover don't you worry, few peeps know the ins and outs of diabetes if they do not have it, same as I was before I was diagonised 9 years ago, had many a decade free of it and then all of a sudden there I am diabetic and arthritic:rotfl: :D anyway it can take little or long depending how high they become, they have to be monitored closely and insulin has to be adjusted according to the numbers, too high and they plummet to the below 4 and cause shivers, shakes, head aches and need to be helped with immediate sugar, too high and there is no saliva left in the mouth, every bone aches , loose focus, concentration, heart beats faster so then lots more insulin has to be added to reduce them, if they stay within 4-10 that is happy days the highs or the lows cause horrid days and chase the numbers:D I have got them all under control apart from the night one that shot to 32 and would not let me sleep, this evening I will put more insulin on and hope again for some sleep:D

Victory: If thats the case i would love to go out in the summer in a bikini, or wear little shorts with a little vest top, mini skirts and everything! I dunno why but thats one of the main reasons i hate being fat, i wanna wear everything but cant :( According to me obviously, i guess i could wear those things but im sure i wouldnt look great at all :p

Diabeties must be awful. I hope you manage to control it in the end! I hope its something i ever have to deal with on a daily basis. Although i got told by my biology teacher that everyone has a set amount of insulin and once you run out that is it, no more. When i was a child i would drink so much coke i could feel the sugar in my bloodstream, i would be so high i would laugh continuously for hours. One time when i was little i drank a whole bottle i think, and was awake untill about 3 or 4 in the morning. Sadly i was banned from it then, best drug to date ive ever taken (and ive only ever taken the one, alcohol :p ) But i do hope it didnt damage my insulin levels too much!

Missyg: Im 10 stone 4lbs!! I think i still got 10stone 7 in my sig, i think i discussed before that i didnt know if i lost that 3lb or if the scales are out, but im 10st 4. Oh, and christ knows how many lbs are in a stone! i dont know anything like that :p Nor do i know how long a kilometre is, or how long a yard is. Ounces, im fine, metres, centimetres ect, im fine! Rmember youre talking to maths !!!!!! here!

Suggs: Impressive graphs!! They look like they should be framed on a wall :p

Ajax: hope your wife gets well soon, must have been frightening for you all.

Who said september was gunna be a good month? Damn right it is, its my birthday. But we wont go there, Im not turning 22 in a million years, it scares me to death. But its a good time of year cos my boyfriend turns 22 a week before i do! Then in october its our 3 year anniversarry then christmas again! Then i would have finished uni and the proper life starts i guess.

I had such a busy day at work today. Some real !!!!!! in. One woman wanted me to give her a blow by blow account of how i bra fit. I mean come on, everyone does it differently, i cant teach her how i do it. She was one of those who kept staring at my name badge and going, "oh so your names vicki?" No, i just create that name to fool everyone. DEEEEEEER. Hooligans, the lot of em!

Im going shopping tomorrow, i cant take it anymore. How obsessed am i turning into? I remember when i was younger and i said to my mum, "women in their early 20's are really horrible people, theyre all interested in themselves and what men they can get" Now i feel like im a bit like that myself :/ I said it cos my brothers wife at the time was my age back then. She was an !!!!!! too.

Hope youve all had a good weekend. Shame some of you didnt try raw onion with tea, i heard someone say about protein so perhaps someone did try it :p

Hello everyone. After my gain over Christmas (I am 3lb over goal again), I thought I would be ok getting back on the straight and narrow, however it's been tough. Can't seem to get the balance right with having reduced breastfeeding as I am now weaning lil man and being at goal. Finding my emotions are all over the place and seem to delve in the fridge for all of the naughty bits that the kids got for Christmas.

I really enjoy WW and no that it's not WW that's the issue, just me at the moment.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend and have'nt over indulged.

    Take it easy. jen

Well, I've still been keeping up the good eating. My mum was down yesterday & I cooked her chops with mash & gravy. The mash did have spring onions in it, and there was plenty of veg. When I started craving a pudding after, I just grabbed a banana :D.

Today we are off for a carvery s5oeat.gif really looking forward to that!

I'm back to work tomorrow, on the earlys. I think I will just take in fruit for my break, or some cereal.

    Right, time for breakfast...musli sm1_051.gif

  • Hullo, I trust everyone's weekend are going well.

After a marthon dress shopping endeavour yesterday (I ache from contorting myself into about 10 different dresses) My friend has found a favourite contender for her bridesmaid dresses.

    http://www.coast-stores.com/fcp/product/-/Bridesmaids/Chandon-Maxi-Dress/2224622857#

I agree with her that it is a beautiful dress. The largest size in the shop was a 16 which i fitted into ok (the side zip would need a great deal of force to zip all the way up). The dilemma which will come towards the end of the month (if her sister approves the dress) is that this shop only stock a limited amount once gone they are gone so it would be the safest bet to purchase them once the decision is made...therein lies the problem...what size to get.?

A little weight loss and toning would make the size 16 a perfect fit...so do I put the pressure on and give myself a deadline to drop a further dress size....and opt for a 14....or do I play it safe...get the dress in a 16 and then get it taken in a month before the wedding?

the wedding is in september and I am hoping that this will be a sucessful year for me weight wise...(but it is also looking to be the most stressful with the lecturing and research combned...my work load quadrupled last week alone).
My mum is in favour of getting the larger size and getting it taken in...mainly based on the fact that if I don't lose weight in the right places then I may be smaller but the 14 might still not be a better fit...

any opinions? advice? how easy is it to alter these dresses?
I'm guessing the decision would be made my the end of Jan when the second bridesmaid comes up to visit so the curren plan is to put some all out effort in and see if I can get the zip up on the 16 :D.

(my shape is a bit like Vix described (think it was vix) pear shaped...consistently a size 16 ontop but I have the hips and thighs from hell which can (depending on fabric) take my trouser size upto a 20 (but them not necessariliy a fantastic fit on the weight)...not a fan of sharing the stats but I figured more information yields better advice :p)

btw...sorry its such a long post....

If it is too much for you then aim for the 16, if you can find the extra push then a 14 , it really always depends on you, look back and think what were you like loosing weight before? Did it come off quick? Was it terribly hard to loose? What time scale did you loose it in? How difficult was it mentally for you? Look at everything and within you you can find the answer, I reckon there is no point aiming for something that you know is going to bring you to your knees in frustration when if you went for less stress within you could be happier....:D

Hi Serendisglair, personally I would go for the 16 and then get it taken in if you need to (a good dressmaker will be able to do this easily I think; you could find one and ask them specifically about that dress before you make the final decision). With a lot of other changes in your life currently, I wouldn't put extra stress on myself. Far better to have a dress that fits you beautifully on the day than trying to squeeze yourself into something and feeling uptight all day. Beautiful dress by the way!

It's too early to sign up to the Race for Life yet but I've sent my details in so they can email me when I can register. I think the one here in Bath falls on the weekend before my birthday so it's a nice goal to aim for and ties in nicely with my WL date. No gym for me today as TOTM is here with a vengence - ouch! Oh well, I've helped OH clean out the car he bought yesterday - I know it was from a friend but I can't believe how dirty she left it!! I can't even describe how minging it was!!! It was only £250 though so I just hope it'll tide us over for a little while. We look like proper boy racers now :o blacked out windows, spoiler etc but at least we fit in on our estate :D

Hi Ajax What dreadful news re MrsA, it could have been fatal as it was to one of my relatives. I wish her (and you) the best huggz9.gif.....To take your mind off it slightly, I would like to know just what you did buy Bailey for Christmas, and whether or not he recieved a card back from Rocky? :D

    xxxx

........yes, knowing what the consequences could have been is a bit scary. Thanks for the best wishes everyone.

Bailey did alright for Christmas  . He had an extraordinary amount of chews and doggy chocs and treats and ... well everything. He had three different doggy Xmas stockings. The weird thing is that he always chews up his squeaky toys until they just don't squeak anymore - if he can't chew a hole in the toy, he knows how to force his fang into the squeak module to push back into the toy so that it won't squeak anymore. He's only done that with one of three new Xmas toys, and that was only yesterday. Surely he can't be growing up? Not at 11?!?! :) It's going to take until Xmas this year to give him all of his treats  . He never did get a card back from Rocky, but did get some presents :D
