Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

Verdigris said:No. Just got as far as Shell being listed as my supplier.Just a word of warning to anyone in this situation, i.e. transferred by Ofgem to a "supplier of last resort" because they were being supplied by Green Supplier Limited when it went bust.Your new supplier is in fact Shell Energy Retail Limited, company number 05070887, registered in England with registered office address at Shell Energy House Westwood Business Park, Westwood Way, Coventry, CV4 8HS: there is no such company as "Shell Energy Limited". I make this warning because staff at this company don't seem to know themselves who they work for, and because e-mails sent by this company do not comply with Part 6 of The Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, made under Section 82 of the Companies Act 2006 (Part 6 requires all of the foregoing company information to be included in all business communications, which includes e-mails). This is a criminal offence contrary to Regulation 28, committed both by the UK legal entity and by each of the directors in default.Bizarrely, in County Court proceedings that I commenced recently against Shell Energy Retail Limited, the company filed its Acknowledgement of Service as being from "Shell Energy Limited", which - as already stated - doesn't exist. Shell Energy Retail Limited was originally incorporated in 2004 as "First Utility Limited" but changed its name to the present one on 22 March 2019. You have to be very careful about identifying the actual company with whom you're trading... for example, there's also a dormant company - number 05070613 - which is now called "First Utility Limited"! - but which was originally incorporated as "First Utilities Limited" and for a very brief period (only a few days, in 2019) was called "Shell Energy Retail Limited Limited". Yes, that's right, the word "Limited" was in there twice! It's therefore hardly surprising that it's a criminal offence to fail to include all of the information required by Part 6 in every "business communication", and for reasons best known only to Shell Energy Retail Limited and its directors, it doesn't comply. This could simply be incompetence, because the company has failed to comply with the Directions Order made by the County Court in respect of my claim and therefore judgement will be awarded against it at the hearing next month: it won't be able to offer any evidence in defence of my claim because it hasn't filed any with the Court, or with me as the Claimant. But I've also pointed this out to them on numerous occasions and they've just ignored it, so I'd advise against using them as a supplier for energy or broadband services... their criminal offending means that the company fails "due diligence" checks.

a direct debit appeared on my bank account yesterday in the name of Green. I was expecting Shell in line with there email.
Anyone else had an email?
My credit balance shown on my account has now increased taking this into account, Plus the direct debit taken on the 19th October by Green, 22 days after Shell took over my supply.
At no time have I been in touch with Green or Shell, sitting back and following OFGEM advise. I do suspect there is some accounting manipulation taking place by Green and this transfer may become very messy.0 -
I got the DD cancellation e-mail yesterday, and still nothing from Shell after the initial "we're taking over" e-mail...it'll all come out in the wash......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I've got my DD cancellation email, too. So far, so orderly.

Are Green still contactable in some form, then, or is it just one way traffic? Any news on final accounts? I left just before they ceased trading, and had already cancelled the direct debit from my side - still in credit, mind.To be honest, they were barely contactable in the first place.1

The Shell Energy Twitter feed makes ‘interesting’ reading today. @ShellEnergyHome
Don’t just look at the Tweets section - look at the Tweets and Replies section, as that shows both sides of the ‘dialogue’. Quite a lot is Green related.1 -

To be honest, atm Shell don't exactly seem to be covering themselves in glory either. Shades of (Spanish owned) Scottish Power. *shudder*1

I think Shell are doing fine. They're not rushing and they're not making rash promises.

Have you looked at the Twitter feed? If so, we must have different expectations. Ok, it’s early days, so benefit of the doubt, and hope for improvement.1
