Apparently according to Shell's website I am supposed to take another reading seven days from now, forward that and today's readings along with my closing readings from Green and they'll sort things out within 6 wks.
Do not let them start assuming readings
Your contract started on 27th September, it is up to them to sort out their systems, they advised reads be taken on that day and on 1st October for new tariff and then monthly.
However, Shell Energy staff told me the accounts have not been brought over properly and they are just putting data in message area for reconciliation some time in 2029!!
I have credit and screenshots of that credit on Green
I am not paying Shell for Energy I had with Green at a fraction of the price.
Green owe me money, Ofgem are supposed to guarantee that is passed over.
Green administrators can contact me when they get their act together.if they think I owe them money
Shell will not get a dime until they email me with an account that shows my balance.
I plan to leave as soon as I can but I want to make sure my credit is transferred first.
If they object I will complain to the Ombudsman and cost them £300+{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}.1 -
See my post of my experience with Shell migration
I am not aware of staff in different countries. What I am aware of is scripted, non-committal and 'holding' responses from those staff.0 -

It's a bit harsh to expect everything to be completed with such a comparatively short time IMO. They SoLR have to rely on receiving account info from the administrators, with so many new accounts to set up, it just IS going to take time.
I'm just grateful to still have gas and electric, as I'm old enough to remember being cut-off in the past through strikes and other industry problems....
Moaning at a Minister, won't make things work any quicker - it may make YOU feel better, though lol
The data required is minuscule, name, email, address, meter numbers, reads and credit balance to transfer. The reads are even available elsewhere.
They have clearly got the email address of most customers they can use snail mail for the rest.
I am not grateful to something I an entitled to and that is guaranteed to me by Ofgem and don't get me started on them.
I don't bother moaning at Ministers but I do take a look at they work for you to see what they have been up to.

Shell's own so called blog does not seem to have been updated since 5th November. https://www.shellenergy.co.uk/blog/post/welcome-green-customers
Any more information anywhere else?1 -
As regards Ministers/Secretarys, I note that Mr Kwarteng has had to make a snivelling apology to the Standards Commissioner for suggesting last week that she ought to consider her position. Perhaps he ought to consider his own position. On a number of issues.2

Should I just refer any creditors to Ofgem, for it to reassure them that I have some money to come back at some point.mumofstig said:Fair comment, that's exactly what I'm worried about *sigh*
Perhaps with hindsight, despite all the advice, I should have cancelled the direct debit. At least then I would still have ninety odd pounds towards the first bill.... as it is I'll probably get a bill before I get the credit back!!Assuming you are both still with Shell, this isn't like a conventional supplier switch. There isn't any credit to "get back".- If you had switched from Green to Shell, you'd be paying Shell now and expecting to get your credit balance refunded from Green, within 6 weeks of switching.
- With an SoLR switch, your credit balance is given to Shell, not you. Any refund will be paid by Shell. It will appear as a positive opening balance on your first Shell bill.
This shouldn't change your cash flow or affect your creditors, unless you happened to have a huge balance with Green and were depending on having it refunded in order to pay the milkman (or whoever).Unless you really need the energy money in your bank account today, I'd suggest you keep paying the DDs so that there is less bill shock when Shell finally get everything straight in 2-3 months time.Of course if it's a decision between eating today or paying the DD, you might well choose to eat and worry about the future bills when they arrive.
I am keeping my money, I would much rather owe them a little bit because of their incompetence.
Let's see how it goes, but I am with these two you quoted.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}.0 - If you had switched from Green to Shell, you'd be paying Shell now and expecting to get your credit balance refunded from Green, within 6 weeks of switching.

Your contract started on 27th September, it is up to them to sort out their systems, they advised reads be taken on that day and on 1st October for new tariff and then monthly.Must admit, I did miss the bit about readings on the 1st, but I did take on the 27th (along with photos). What I don't understand with this process is that I'm supposed to send them two readings seven days apart - they're my "supporting readings" (from Shell's website), I then also add my final readings with Green, according to Shell those are my "suggested" readings (they're not, they're actual). Also, my energy use has increased a bit since end of Sept, so again I don't understand now two readings seven days apart are supposed to help, aside from looking at the proportion of use.I emailed them last night, and was told the above - trouble is, I can't supply gas readings to them as September's automated reading is higher than October's (again automated reading).Sigh. I'll go through the process, I'm assuming if my opening readings are still incorrect there's a dispute process with OFGEM. Which will take time. Not impressed at the moment with Shell, I only found out about the direct debit issue by chance, randomly logging onto my account to see if there was an update and all along we were told to "do nothing, it'll be fine". When all this is sorted out, if I can transfer out, I will do so.

Latest contact from Shell Energy.‘Good morning. Thank you for letting us know and I hope you're well today 😊I've checked and I can see we've not yet set up your account yet but please don't worry! We've been creating thousands of new customer accounts per day and today should be our last day for creating Green customer accounts’ 👍 - Sara0

Ha! I'll believe that when I get my account details. Still heard nothing so either I am unlucky enough to be done on the very last day or this is BS.0
