I have the standard size and its just perfect for two.  However, my friend has the grande size and uses it to cook a whole chicken.  So, if you are cooking larger cuts of meat then I would go for the grande size.  Hope that helps!

Weather lovely again, we went out on DH’s motorbike this afternoon to the garden centre and had toasties for lunch – I had a £5 voucher to spend so we used that towards the lunch.

We had a walk down to the village this afternoon, very busy with lots of tourists.  We had Pimms at the pub.  Back home to quiche and veg.  we will be out again later on to watch the beacon being lit and some fireworks.

Another fabulous day weather wise.  Making the most of it by line drying another load of washing.  Did a bit of gardening too.

This afternoon we are off to a “fun” day in the village.  After that we plan to sit outside the pub and have a couple of drinks.  Then we will get some chips from the chippy and have them with some cold leftover savoury quiche.

Breakfast was scotch pancakes, lunch leek and potato soup and bread.

What a change in the weather – windy and raining today and very overcast.  Glad I made the most of the nice weather yesterday.

Bit of housework today.  Some friends came round this afternoon for tea and cake.  Its sponge cake with blackcurrant jam and buttercream filling.  I’ll also top some scones with strawberry jam and put some cream on the side.

Breakfast toast, lunch soup and dinner tonight is cooked cold sausages, potato salad, lettuce, tomatoes and bread with pickles

What a lovely end to the Jubilee weekend.  Firstly we went to the village green and attended an open air church service, where we made cardboard crowns!  Then we went to the café for coffee and teacake.

This afternoon we watched the spectacular pageant on TV and had an afternoon tea with egg mayo val au vents, potato salad, lettuce and tomatoes and crisps.  Followed by the trifle (which is now finished).

Later on tonight we may have some cheese on toast if we feel hungry.

Another nice day – even though rain was forecast.

Some gardening done.  Sorted out our menu when we are away in the motorhome and packed some of the tinned goods.  Cleaned the motorhome bathroom and kitchen area ready.  DH doing lots of outside maintenance to it.

We are off to see Top Gun at the cinema later on this afternoon/early evening – I am counting this as an NSD as the cinema is a planned spend and that’s all I’ll be buying.  I have popcorn from the supermarket and I’ll decant half into another bag, so we will each have half a bag in the cinema.

Breakfast was porridge and berries.  A late lunch of gammon shanks with mash and swede – which we will eat in the garden.  After the cinema I’ve got some scones so we can have those with jam and cream if we fancy them – who am I kidding?  Of course, we’ll eat them later  :#

    NSD 4/10

Weather quite mixed today.  Very cloudy with burst of sunshine, but rain is promised and it does feel a bit damp outside.

I have made a couple of phone calls and actually spoken and had conversation with two different friends.  Made a nice change.  I have now made a mental note to try and do this more often – I usually just text.  Was nice to be “old school” for a change.

Another load of washing done, but drying inside because of the weather.

    Banking done.

    Hoovering downstairs done

To do:  water and check on plants in the greenhouse

    Make some bread

Breakfast was porridge and berries, lunch will be chicken sandwiches and dinner tonight is egg fried rice with chicken – then that is all the leftover cooked chicken which I froze used up.

I think then a lazy late afternoon, knitting and watching some telly.
