This morning I went with a friend for a walk around some gardens – they were only open today. A fiver to get in and that went to the Ukraine. Was so lovely and the weather was very kind to us, lovely sunshine and bright blue sky, but with a definite bite in the air.
This afternoon I went food shopping and now should have everything I need for the Easter weekend.
Tonight we are out to friends for dinner.
Have managed to get some washing done and its now drying on the line.
So it was porridge and berries for breakfast, lunch was humous and soda bread with salad bits and tonight we are having roast lamb with our friends. I am bringing pudding which is home made apple pie. I made it a few weeks ago and froze it, so its now defrosted. We’ll have that with custard.

Decided to have a bit of a tidy up in the garden today. The weather was overcast, but dry. Took some of the pond weed out – its now on the “bank” of the pond just in case there is any wildlife in there that needs to crawl out and go back into the pond. Tomorrow DH will dispose of it.
Planted up some more courgettes and onions in the greenhouse. Was really nice doing that and listening to the sound of the church bells.
So a really nice pleasant Sunday.
We had oatcakes and poached eggs for breakfast. Lunch was bunnychow – a South African dish which is like a stew with loads of spices in it and served in hollwed bread loaf. I made the loaf, chopped it in half (was a small loaf), scooped out the middle (now frozen for breadcrumbs) and you put the bunnychow in that. Was really nice for a change. I used a recipe from Tescos website. There was plenty left over which I have frozen for another day. Later on we will have a supper using up the rest of the soda bread with houmous and coleslaw.

Well at the moment financially I’m feeling like its two steps forward and three steps backwards. Went to the dentist, he said the crown wouldn’t last more than a month. So I’m going to need to have the root extracted. So, the call out was £42 and for the pleasure of the extraction its another £150. I’ve made the appointment for 10th May at 8am. I just want it over and done with now. I’ve had problems with my teeth for decades. I’m surprised I’ve got any left. So no NSD today because of the dentist.
The weather cleared mid morning and I went for a walk. I felt a bit fed up and ended up in the café where I had coffee and a piece of Mississippi mud pie (my favourite). I felt a hell of a lot better after that!
Tidied up my desk and put various paperwork away.
Updated our family calendar, which involved printing a new one out and re-writing – it was full of crossings out and getting difficult to read.
I had some washing airing on the horses (after line drying yesterday), so put that away. Started to tidy DS’s bedroom – he’s home on 8th May for a couple of weeks. Just need to put the spare bedding away which is on his bed. The only other thing in his room is a large bag full of bits for the charity shop – I should have taken it when I went to the dentist today. I’ll move it downstairs and get it in the car so next time I go to town I can drop it off.
Breakfast was toast, lunch tuna mayo roll and dinner tonight is mince in wraps.

All good mrs p 😼
You did the right thing regarding the coffee .As for the dental issues going forward , I don't know if you're on a dental plan.
I am , and although I pay £20 pm approx it means I get 6 monthly and hygienist appointments. Plus there is a % off of any treatments that you have .Just a thought ..1 -
Thanks AC, yes I am on a dental plan and like you I get the 2 x 6 monthly hygienist and I get I think its 20% of any treatment.Debt free and Keeping on Track2
