Today DH has finished putting up the netting round the veggie plot. I did some gardening. Housework done, bed changed, washing done and dried on the line.
Weather overcast but dry.
Brunch was American pancakes, with berries and youghurt. Then we had a cream tea and will have an early dinner of Bobotie – a South African dish made from a recipe by the Hairy Bikers.

Lovely sunny day here, but still with a slight bite to it. I had a lovely walk around the village, made me feel so much better to be out, seeing other people and with a lovely sunny bright blue sky.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch will be salad sandwich with mayo and crisps and dinner tonight is salmon en croute – one of my favourites, I use the Jamie Oliver recipe.
There are some muffins proving and will go on to bake shortly.
Then I will go into the garden and do some planting in my new veggie bed!
Still waiting to hear how much my council tax is going to be this year. I have budgeted £35 over what it was last year with the hope that that is a serious over-estimation.

Those biscuits sound tasty - and an unplanned afternoon in a pub is always a good thing! Sounds like you've had some nice days recently!!
We're still waiting for our council tax bill too - I commented to Mr EH that if they don't get their fingers out they'll not be able to take the first payment on time!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Lovely sunny day here, but still with a slight bite to it.
Dentist for check up first thing – all well thank goodness. As we had to travel into town we went to Lidl’s and stocked up.
Seniors lunch at the village café. We walked down to the village and treated ourselves. DH had roast dinner with all the trimmings, apple and pear crumble and tea. I had fish, chips and mushy peas, ice cream sundae and coffee. All in £12.50 each.
We didn’t have any breakfast and tonight we’ll have salad and avocado sandwiches if we need them.
So a bit of a spendy (but planned spendy) day.
Council tax has come in at £7 a month more than last year, so a manageable increase. I have now adjusted my budgets.

First thing I had a hospital appointment and a small procedure. Very painful and an anxious time. All looks well, but I get results in 4 – 6 weeks but have been told looks normal so not to worry. Fingers crossed its all fine.
We had a bit of time to kill beforehand, so popped in B&M where I got some packet type foods which are handy for when we go away in the motorhome.
After the hospital we stopped at my favourite garden centre and had tea and cake, which was very welcome.
This afternoon I’ve just rested.
I didn’t have breakfast in the morning, so had the cake at the garden centre, the dinner is now in the oven, some leftovers in wraps with cheese on top. Later on tonight I’ll have a toasted muffin, so a bit of a scrappy kind of eating day.
I’m looking forward to the new series of Masterchef tonight.
Now aiming for NSD’s till the end of the month.

Been a busy morning – I’ve achieved the following:
Moved some money around in accounts
Set up an extra savings pot on my online account
Now going to set aside the Santander account for petrol for the car and diesel for the motorhome.
Baked some biscuits
Prepped some sauce with onions, tomatoes and corned beef. Later on I’ll add macaroni to make a pasta bake for tea. I made enough that it will stretch to 6 portions, so I’ll freeze 4 for later in the month.
Doing well with my food budget. I’ve got a whiteboard on the wall in the kitchen and I’m writing down our meal plans now. I have 4 weeks worth so, I’m hoping I don’t need to do a massive shop this month – that’s the plan anyway! I have so much in my cupboards and freezer its ridiculous. I really need to try and eat it all down before I re-stock. So there might be some funny combinations in the coming weeks.
Food is the only budget I can flex. We want to make some trips in our motorhome so I need to cut back somewhere to achieve this. Plus, DH and I are both overweight, so eating smaller portions is the way to go. Since I've been doing this for the past couple of months, we have both lost weight and feel better for it.
Later I need to do a bit of weeding in the garden and tidy up the craft room.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch corned beef sarnie and tea tonight is the corned beef pasta bake.
I've started to re-watch Spooks and had forgotten how good it was. I love murder mysteries and anything to do with spies so its right up my street.

A strange day yesterday. Woke up not feeling too well - I think I overdid things the day before. I rested for most of the day and read. Later in the afternoon I felt so much better. Weather was lovely, so DH and I had home made fish fingers and oven chips for tea then we went out for a walk around the village and got waylaid by the pub! We had some drinks and it was good to meet up with some locals and get some gossip.
Back on the MSE waggon today!
We are going away to Devon in the motorhome on Friday for a few nights. I have done my meal planning for when we are away. We will have fish and chips one night at the campsite, but the rest will be all cooked in the motorhome and I will prepare packed lunches. I am a fan of the John West On the Go tuna pasta dishes. They have gone up in price in Sainsbogs to £2.50, but I saw some in B&M for £1.75. They are those long life type things and don’t need to be kept in the fridge. They are ideal for taking when we are walking or cycling anywhere and they even come with a fork! They also sell a Lidl version for £1.59. I will be stocking up on those when we get home as we are going away again in June.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch will be a late lunch and we will have spatchcock chicken with cous cous and veggies. Tonight we will have a supper of some home made sausage rolls from the freezer.
Weather is lovely and sunny again, but a bit too windy to sit out for any length of time.
Spring forward tonight.

We began the day with a lie in (although if you take account of the hour going forward we probably got up at normal time!). We had a lovely cooked brunch of oatcakes, eggs, bacon and beans.
We then did quite a bit of work in the garden, its looking lovely. I got DH to move some of my pots from one side of the garden to the other and we had a general tidy up and did some weeding.
Also did a load of washing and that is on the line drying.
Later on we will have a prosecco afternoon tea. We will have chicken and craberry sandwiches, sausage rolls, cake, scones with cream and jam and biscuits. We did think about going out for it, but at £30 plus per head I thought it better to have our own – that way we can have exactly what we want. For instance, I have made some chocolate cakes with chocolate icing for myself and DH just has sponge with icing as he doesn’t care for chocolate cake.
