A lovely sunny day here today. Decided to have a coffee and toasted teacake for breakfast at the café. Felt a bit fed up – got a hospital appointment tomorrow and I’ll be happier once its done and I get the results.
However, the sun has helped to lift my spirits. Done a load of washing and its now drying on the line. It really does feel like summer although there is still a bite in the air – I wore my winter coat when I went for my walk.
We have got some leaves on 4 of the bonsai’s – DS bought DH a grow bonsai kit for Christmas. I have dug out some small pots and we have some special bonsai potting compost – was reduced to £1 a couple of months ago. Tomorrow morning we plan to transplant the ones that have germinated into the new pots. So, everything is ready to do that.
Breakfast was my naughty teacake, lunch soup and dinner tonight is Jamie Oliver’s salmon en croute. Its very easy using puff pastry salmon fillet and spinach. We will have that with some extra veg.

Hope the hospital appointment goes smoothly.
As for returning old photocard licenses - I did, but not before cutting out some of the personal info - I'm blowed if I'm sending that level of identifying information through the post with the way RM are at the moment!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think I'll be shredding my photo card licence before sending it back to DVLA! I need to renew mine the end of this month but at least it's online and no charge (I'm coming up to 70).

My hospital appointment was at 2.20. We had porridge and berries for breakfast.
Decided to visit a garden centre near the hospital where we had coffee. We then sat in the car park and had our lunch which was a picnic of a flask of soup and some bread. After the appointment we stopped off at Lidls and I did some shopping.
Tea tonight was oatcakes with leeks in cheese sauce.
I have meal planned for the next month and set myself the challenge of trying to find another 7 meals from cupboards and freezer so no more big spends other than milk, fresh fruit and veg.
Really need to try and reach my NSD target this month.
There is one final planned spend later this week, compost, canes and netting for DH to complete the veggie patch. Then I can start planting out.

I'd have been more comfortable just shredding it but figured they needed at least some form of identifying information left to confirm they'd had it back.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

So far today I’ve:
Turned the underfloor heating off in the kitchen – won’t go on now until October/November time.
Set up the mobile banking app for the CC on my phone – to make it easier to try and make some overpayments.
Looked and refined my budgets yet again – counting the days till DH gets his state pension – which I calculate to be a month after his birthday – so mid May.
Planted some rhubarb in a propagator in the house – I think it will be too cold in the greenhouse.
Sorted out my bookcase and put some books in the charity bag
Breakfast toasted muffin, lunch soup and dinner tonight is toad in the hole with veggies.

Had a planned spending day today. Went to garden centre, had breakfast and bought netting and more bamboo canes.
Came home and DH sorted out the veggie patch putting up the canes and netting to keep the cats out. Almost finished, will be completed on Saturday afternoon.
The weather was so nice that just before 4 we walked down to the village for a drink at the pub, turned into 3 drinks each and then fish and chips! The last time we were in the pub was Boxing Day.
So turned out we spent more than we had planned. But, we really enjoyed ourselves.
Back to normal tomorrow.

My friend came round this morning and we had morning coffee and gossip.
I made a cake and some spicy carrot soup.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch carrot soup and dinner tonight is sausage in a tomato sauce in wraps with cheese. There was enough of the sausage mixture to make an extra two portions which have gone in the freezer.

Sunny today, but very, very windy. Just checked on my seeds in the greenhouse. I was going to do a bit of weeding but to be honest its too windy (well if I tell myself that enough times……)
Had to get a few bits of shopping so no NSD today.
Made some melting moment biscuits (from a recipe on the Greensaving moneysaving site). Oh my goodness, they should come with a warning, I can’t stop eating them.
Breakfast was toasted muffin, lunch soup and flatbreads and dinner tonight is chicken kiev, mash and veggies.
