NSD#9
Another early start for appointment with dental surgeon. The swelling has improved slightly, but he thinks it's a slipped disc (lockjaw). Didn't feel so tired this afternoon, so dropped a card off for my friend's birthday. Sat sewing after tea & decluttering more programmes off the box.
Grateful for feeling a bit better, getting a diagnosis, laughs with friendUse it up, wear it out

Well just about done w October. Found I have had 11 NSD days, so fairly proud of that. Should have a good amount in November as well, as I'm still on emergency budget with a big crack in the middle. And mainly cash flow problems.
But I have stuck it out in October, I have had a smashing holiday week at home. Am going to see ds2 tomorrow and the train works out the same in time and money as petrol and driving. So looking forwards to that - will bring book.
Fun - I have had some fun, and a lot of emotions. I could use a belly laugh, but I'm not a big laugher anyways. But tonight I'm off to community theatre w neighbours, so maybe.
Intellectual pursuit - On Tuesday I started doing a work task and I could concentrate and I felt some of my 'smarter' brains falling back into place. And I have been busy challenging my students. Don't have time for much else.I am thankful for the care given to my son, even if I get a bit annoyed here and there, I am thankful for his commitment to therapy and I am thankful for my friends looking after me and still being here in one piece.
Thankfulness – post 3+ gratitudes each day. This means you’ll check in daily. And that helps to keep you accountable.
Food still needs a review - but at least I have cooked more vege this week I have had off.
Overhaul - I managed to give away a box of toys, not much happening on that front, and I have mountains of stuff to go through.
Not much reading happening. I have tried to watch documentaries instead. A fascinating one about Paloma Faith and her determination and one called 'Salt' - a beautiful programme about the slave trade reinterpreted.
Plan - my plan did work out in the end - I spent my last £10 on a beer and reduced steak.
Understand - I have so had it with driving and from January I will commute on bike - am repairing my old bike and will start a bike fund for a new one.
Rejoice - I love my friends and am trying to reconnect - with some people it has been years due to pandemic stuff.
Plan - I shall now start to stock up for December not sure how it will pan out - so will have emergency stores in place.
Outside - has been slightly ignored in October, but is about to reemerge. But some of my outside time has gone to visit ds1 - so it was given up for a good purpose.
Stop and simply be. That is what I did this week. Like a gift - just me and the dog. Have been a bit social and a bit efficient every day, but mainly just taken my time, and slept like a log. Sorry dog.
Extend a hand - I find this hard as I feel a lot of anger, but I also am spending a lot of time being positive for others, and working on ds benefits etc. Makes giving challenging, but I do keep trying.
Bring on November, hard work, routines and darkness - but it will be a gentle and soothing darkness to cuddle up and sort out the odd shelf here and there. Main focus - get bike lights.
PS and it is shockingly expensive not to have any money for 3 months. Just dropped £240 on bits and pieces!. Train ticket for tomorrow £24, new tyre £60, suit cleaned £15(me being nice as ds2 borrowed ds1's suit)(and he wore it to a bbq), toiletries and grocery shop £110 incl 2 smaller pyrex'es(fed up with cooking too much), a dog lead, electric tooth brush heads and other tooth maintenance stuff! Diesel £30!
Am I nuts or do I just live in the real world?

Hi guys
This month has absolutely flown by.
I managed my 10 NSDs, plus most of the Xmas presents are now bought so hopefully I’ll aim for more next month.
My freezer and cupboards are groaning so next weeks grocery budget will include some of the Xmas food and a couple of ( sweets and booze ) presents. I’ll only need bits, bread, milk and veg mainly. I do a weekly online shop because I spend less that way.
I’m grateful for my work week finishing yesterday, for a nice lazy day and for not needing to step outside ( it’s throwing it down )
The temperature has definitely dropped here so I’m going to spend the afternoon with my knitting and the tv. The best advice I’ve ever had is from my GP, to listen to your body and be kind to yourself, my body is saying it’s tired so I’m going to listen.

Still on NSD 12, and it'll likely be the total for October.
Despite getting milk yesterday to prevent me spending today, I still spent today. After dropping DS at nursery, I swung by BeAndEm to price compare. I had a few things on the SaneBerries order for tomorrow that I thought I could get a little cheaper. Saved £1 on tissues, £1 on baking parchment, and 50p on Halloween treats for any ghouls that may appear at our door on Sunday.
Tomorrow visiting and staying over at in-laws as it's MIL's birthday. And Sunday, we'll be taking DS out for his very first guising experience. He's got his joke at the ready...
'Two cows are standing in a field. Which one is going on holiday?'
'The one with the wee calf'.
This will possibly make no sense unless you know a bit of Scots slang.
Grateful today for two surveys (after months of none!), saving a little despite having to spend to get it, and for Fridays off.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸5 -
NSD 17Still under house arrest. Meals are from the pantry, only one freezer drawer still has residents.I actually had 2 arts and crafts fairs to go to this weekend. In the diary and everything, but I am incarcerated until 2nd, so there will be no hand crafted blown glass orbs this year. Boo!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today is a low spend day - weekly bus pass and tv mag.
Grateful for:
Good bus connections - a little exercise as I had to run for both buses.
Good night's sleep.
Better day in work.
Responded to an email about a possible extension in my work contract - will get confirmation next month.
Did a very tiny exercise workout in work with a small team before we all started work. Was a laugh.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20136 -
Have written off Oct - almost 4 weeks of C0vid in the gt house - achieved more NSDs than normal as a result, though!
We are all now officially out of isolation, although DH and I are still very tired and coughing (and my hearing is a bit dodgy, like my ears need to pop) - bring on November!
