Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers

To be honest I'm not really bothered either way, I'd much rather pay for what I've used and have my money in my bank account rather than theirs, but I'll wait and see whether it changes.

Octopus also update your account balance each time they receive a payment or issue a bill.
Thanks. That's what I was trying to establish earlier0 -
I put in meter readings to Octopus earlier, within 5 minutes my credit balance had changed to a debit which was expected as its 2 months usage. I paid in £150 to my account by debit card to cover this debit and also some extra for next month and hopefully the one after as well, as I know my DD isn`t quite enough. Within 2 minutes they acknowledged the credit and sent receipt by email. Within an hour I had a new up to date statement on my account. Very fast and efficient service. I`m happy with the service, just wish we were still paying Avro prices

Finally got my final Avro bill which was technically only for 11 days so was still quite a bit in credit which has then been transferred to my account, I have entered my meter readings today at octopus and I'm still almost £100 in credit after they've just deducted what I've used so not as big a shock I was expecting, just wondering that as I've put my meter readings in today should I make this my regular date each month or will octopus decide themselves?0

You can submit meter readings whenever suits you, but ideally at least once a quarter. Octopus won't mind.
Octopus say they'll generate a bill every time you submit meter readings, or every three months if you don't submit any. (I've got a smart meter so I can't confirm this from personal experience.)Octopus also update your account balance each time they receive a payment or issue a bill.

I’m still on zero readings showing, and 0 on the accounts, credit and bill page.Would be nice if there was any acknowledgement that I existed. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Well my final Avro bill is on the Octopus website but not on Avro's, no matter., Paid with the credit I had with Avro so that's a relief. No bill as yet from Octopus to cover from 26th September till 29th November, the last readings I gave them, so not sure when I will receive that. With 446 electricity units and 46 Gas units since then I am expecting a fairly heavy hit, especially as it's two months worth. Can't work it out with all the formulas and I'm awful at maths but with Avro's rates I think it looked like £144 for Gas and £75ish for electric, and that's not even Octopus rates, hope I've done my sums wrong and over predicted!0

I would guess you have over predicted. Your actual rates will depend on the region you're in, but on the Octopus rates for the Midlands I get something like £105 for electricity and £75 for gas for the usage and dates you give. That assumes you have an imperial gas meter too. If you have a metric meter, the gas cost will be more like £37.

Now fully transferred to Octopus as of yesterday but for some reason not on a fixed DD, “You are paying a variable amount depending on your usage”, I didn't ask for that and as all EX Avro customers must have been on a fixed DD I was expecting the same terms, though it doesn't matter to me, I don't mind paying on receipt of the bill but I wonder why some are on fixed and some on variable, or am I missing something.
I didn't 'opt' for this but I don't mind tbh
