You won't get a bill from Octopus until the final bill from Avro is produced and your credit will also follow. You won't be out of pocket at any pointAre you referring to people who have switched away, or to people who have stayed with the SoLR?If the latter, I was with GNE which failed in January. My payments to GNE were all transferred to EDF (the SoLR) and accounted for on my bill. You can see my bill on page 50-ish of the GNE thread with all the details. There were several others in that thread who were also happy with the handling of their credit (although I think there arer one or two forumites still chasing EDF).It did take until May, more than 3 months after GNE failed, so it's still early to be expecting anything from Avro/Octopus.N. I had a £200 credit with Avro but I'm not expecting to get that back as a lump sum. I've missed one DD with Octopus but paid one recently so when they finally get the meter readings and bill me for the energy used, I will probably owe them quite a bit.I'm presuming that the £200 will just be added to my Octopus account balance and as that will probably be in debit, most of it will go towards the cost of energy used so far. From then on, I'll adjust future DDs accordingly.0

In my case I've paid Octopus 1 DD and one additional payment and my balance is a debt of under £14. £171 is the credit I had with Avro so I might lower the DD after the credit is paid into my Octopus account.
My Avro account was worked out on 2400 kWh per year, 200 kWh per month and I now use a little over half of that amount per month.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
Well.... my first DD has been taken by Octopus as warned about by email. I upped the DD amount after doing my own calcs based on the new tarriff rates, made one manual payment to compensate for the missed DD in the changeover. So we'll see how that all works out when any balance finally arrives from Avro!. Fingers crossed :-)0

You can get a pretty close estimate to what you will actually be billed by using your readings provided for the close of Avro and opening of the account with Octopus along with current readings, then calculating the cost on the Avro tariff and the cost on the Octopus tariff. But that does assume the readings provided will be used. In normal switches, the mysterious "independent" body reviews, and often changes, the closing/opening readings, which will affect the billings, but only by a small amount, as it can change the kWh billed on the Avro and Octopus tariffs. Anybody know if this body is also used in the SoLR process? The CV used in the gas kWh calculation will be unknown for most people too, but changes to that that typically only makes less than a pound difference to the monthly cost of gas used.

Just had latest Avro payment taken from my account.0

I see that 2 days ago (22nd) I had two DDs go out of my current account. One to AVRO and one to OCTOPUS - so I am paying twice.0
-
Thankfully, you should get the Avro DD payments back - eventually. But cancelling those Avro DDs will avoid making double energy payments in future.
