Did my calculations over the 42 day period my bill for gas and electric has increased by £60.73.

The standing charge over 42 days with avro would have been £6.69 for both gas and electric. it is now E £9.87 and G £10.97. Quite a difference.

I know with the rises in wholesale we are in the situation we are in, but the government is having a nice little vat uplift from all this. Over the 42 days they will be getting an extra E £1.49 and G £1.61 from me. Multiply that by the whole country and bearing in mind we have a reasonably decent deal. When I checked at the beginning of all this Eons standing charge was 45p !

I finally got my email saying my account details were open. Also in this email it stated what my tariff is:

You're on Flexible Avro, our always great-value variable tariff.

    Your prices (including VAT) are:
    • A standing charge of 23.50p per day and 21.80p/kWh for your electricity.
    • A standing charge of 26.11p per day and 4.02p/kWh for your gas.
I looked back to the beginning when the Octopus v2 /avro was shown the figures were:
Electric SC. 23.5p  Unit charge 21.4
Gas      SC  23.85  Unit charge  3.84.
I presume this is because the cap altered in October. Not a lot we can do about it.
You looked back to the beginning? The beginning of what?
Tariffs (including "Felxible Avro") vary by region. Are you sure that your tariff is for the same region as the one you've quoted now?

When we were 1st informed of the collapse and this thread was started . We were all concerned of course and offering advise etc. One poster said that to find out what tariff was to check out the website and the Octopus v2 tariff, Which I did with my postcode hence the figures.

Basically it's irrelevant now as this is the figure they've given me and what I have to pay.

Just as an experiment, I have sent an email to Octopus customer services to request a tariff change to the Helpful Octopus 24M fixed Nov 2021 v1.
Let's see what, if anything, happens.

All I get now on Octopus tariffs is a message "We can't seem to find any tariffs for that postcode"
