Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers

The tariff has disappeared. I guess i was the last person to get moved to it.In Progress!!!0

I googled Octopus energy quotes and their site says, when you finally get through all the stuff,
With global energy prices at record highs, you're unlikely to be better off by switching at this time.
If you think that's incorrect and would like a personalised quote, please call and speak to one of our experts on *********** with your current energy prices to hand. Our lines are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 4pm on Friday.
I deleted the phone number from the message.
Someone please tell me what money is0 -
There`s only one phone number and email for Octopus.
hello@octopus.energy
08081641088
They ask you to avoid using the phone for contact and use email or even Twitter.
If you enquire about changing tariff by email, by the time they reply, the tariff you`re asking about is long gone.
Customers who don`t "tweet" should not be at a disadvantage to Twits.1 -

08081641088The phone number to use if you believe you still want to switch to Octopus after clicking through their warnings to the message in the post above is 08081693274, there are also other email addresses like avro@octopus.energy and smart@octopus.energy.Generally, if you fit into one of those categories you are better off using the right email address or phone number, rather than the generic CS contact points.0 -

But 08081693274 is for switching to Octopus so no good for those already with them.
The email addresses aren`t much use to existing customers either.1 -
2010 said:The email addresses aren`t much use to existing customers either. That would be a mistake, for Avro customers the avro@ email is useful as even though they are with Octopus now it puts them into a queue where there is more likely to be specific knowledge of their issues.Similarly the smart@ address is very useful for existing customers with smart metering issues as it goes to a team with more smart metering knowledge than the general CS staff. .

The tariff being the one you doubted and actually said NINJA59 was just lucky to get it.
Since then there have been others that have said they too have managed to be moved to that tariff.
So, the smart@/avro@ addresses are totally useless for trying to get a better tariff.1 -
In response to my email request to switch to Helpful Octopus 24M fixed November 2021 v1 they sent me details of their Loyal Octopus 24M fixed, currently at £350 pa extra for a typical user. Code for: the requested tariff is no longer available.Thankfully, they didn't actually switch me to the Loyal... tariff and, indeed, advised me not to.As much as could be expected in the circumstances. I'm ok with that.
Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

So, how many of you still have a "no properties associated with your account" message on your Octopus meter reading page?0

Urgent Warning - Avro still taking direct debits after accounts have been switched to Octopus. Customer pays twice.
My mum was one of those switched to Octopus after Avro went bust. Today her direct debit was due. BOTH Avro and Octopus have taken the money from her bank account. We didn't cancel the old direct Avro debit as we were waiting to see who would be taking the payment this month but we didn't expect both to take the money. I have contacted the bank to ask for the Avro direct debit to be refunded via the direct debit guarantee but I would strongly recommend everyone who was with Avro should check their bank accounts carefully.0
