icsys said:I have to say... was a little worried at the lack of correspondence from Octopus other than the initial email from 'Greg' sent on the 26th September and one from 'Jon' sent on the 29th September, since then I have had nothing further.
But after reviewing the information posted on the Avro information page https://octopus.energy/avro/ I have some assurance as it is pretty comprehensive.
Having suffered at the hands of British Gas when Flow went pop, (I transferred to Avro at the earliest opportunity), I'm hoping the above is a sign of what to expect from this company in terms of transparency and customer service.
I guess now its a matter of waiting for the 'final bill' email to confirm the Octopus account has been opened.1 -
I was previously with Octopus and was very happy with everything. I decided to join Avro because it was about £10 a month cheaper . I was pleased that Octopus was taking over they are far better than the big six.I was reading the information on their website that Octopus aim to make a 5% profit per year. The big six aim for a 22% profit.Seems like its government red tape slowing everything down. Everything will work out in the end. My Avro bill £744 per year will go to £1077 44.75% Increase............Time to become more efficient and give them less of our money. The Octopus tariff that i think i will be on . will beFlexible Octopus October 2021 v2 Capped £1,267 a year.

I got an email a week ago from Avro / Octopus asking for meter readings taken on 26.09. , Submitted these but no way to check they got them, did email Octopus and got a reply saying they had them, that's more than Avro did as I rarely got reply's from emails. Its just annoying that there is little info, no idea if switch is complete, what they will be taking on direct debit per month. I just wish things would get a move on. Ill give them a go, but think I may switch to a bigger supplier when things calm down a bit0

"So, what’s to say Octopus Energy won’t go the same way!?
We insist upon fair and sustainable pricing. We charge our customers based on the wholesale price of energy, with a target 5% margin on top to cover the costs of running a successful business."

I've received an update email today, advising that my online account should be fully up and running in around 5 days time. The email advises the tariff I'll be on:"You're on Flexible Avro, our always great-value variable tariff.
Your prices (including VAT) are:- A standing charge of 23.85p per day, 21.76p/kWh for your standard rate and 15.02p/kWh for your off-peak electricity.
- A standing charge of 26.11p per day and 3.94p/kWh for your gas"

That's interesting Jellie. I was with Avro on a fixed and have just just checked what tariff I wiull be on with Octopus and it's
Electric Unit Rate 21.37 p/kWh Electric Standing Charge 24.03 p/dayGas Unit Rate 4.01 p/kWh Gas Standing Charge 26.11 p/day
I guess it's different depending on what tariff you were on with Avro. One thing that I do know is it verey much will be a case ofheating or eating this winter on those prices!
