£700 credit!! you need to make sure you're not giving companies so much of your money at any one time! No wonder you're trying to shave 1-2p off each kwh energy!

Yes the prices shouldn't increase till april, saying that there are no exit fees, so you can leave whenever you want.

Yes - we got a great deal with Avro in 2019 only because we were getting ripped off previously with one of the big six (my mistake). So really it seems like alot of credit but its not, its just because we were overpaying in previous years until i got a grip of the prices. Then 2020 renewed with avro albeit slightly higher but still a good price.

Its going to be a nightmare to leave in winter and try to find a good company, id rather wait it out until feb/march

but i am afraid they may go up quite a lot by then - i hope not
Your previous companies billing is completely irrelevant in you building up a massive credit with Avro. You will have given them your annual consumption on joining (if you didn’t that’s part of the problem) upon seeing your credit go past say £150 you should have clocked this and asked for a direct debit reduction.

how much energy do you use a year in kWh?
if your bills are up to date and your meter readings are accurate I would suggest you reduce your direct debit with octopus down to £10 a month (which you can do totally online with octopus) and them keep a close eye on you bill every month. Let your existing credit get used up until it comes to around £100 and then increase your direct debit back up to the necessary level (you will know what this is by seeing how much you are spending each month whilst it’s reducing your current level)its best to keep your account in slight credit but as close to break even as possible.

AFAIK nobody can go anywhere until their Octopus account is up and running.
By then or even now, there is nowhere to go unless you want to pay a lot more.
I'm sitting tight to April at least unless a good deal comes up in the meantime, which is very doubtful.

Hi all, I was an Avro customer, so just waiting like everyone else, but do we know the unit price and standing charge per day with this new - Flexible Octopus tariff?

Go to https://octopus.energy/tariffs/ and ignore the "get a quote" button. Type in your postcode and filter on "flexible" and "domestic". One of the tariffs there will be "Flexible Octopus October 2021 v2". It will tell you prices per kWh and per day.

    Not Funny
Of course it is, you wanted some secret way of changing your grades getting a lower tariff.

Hacking into an energy providers computer is about the only way that is going to happen.

Or you could bypass your meter.

IF you have a Smart2 meter, then Octopus Go could well be cheaper for you - ignore the low cost 4 hr night tariff (though handy to charge the car) - but their std Go day unit rate is cheaper than their other fixes too

Octopus has recently tightened up the eligibility criteria for Go and Go Faster. I recently renewed my Go Faster tariff and I had to declare that I own an EV. Moreover, Octopus raised its peak charge by over 50% last week to c.26p/kWh. Screenshot shows Go rates for my DNO region:

Good idea - i will reduce the DD to £50 per month until the credit runs out

Had the email informing we are being moved from Octopus, submitted meter readings as requested, and set up standing order. Checking this morning i see we now apear to have a Avro Online Account, web site looks ok, but there is no mention at all how much monthly payments are going to be, or when they start. Octopus was not my choice to move to i wanted to move to one of the bigger suppliers, i did think of swapping but its to bloody stressful. Anyone heard how much they are going to pay a month, we were paying Avro £75,and had a credit balance of £160 just before they ceased trading, so expecting the new payments to  double.
Did you mean to say you'd set up a direct debit there, not a standing order?
Oops .i ment to put Direct Debit

Has anyone else received the standard monthly reminder from Avro to input meter readings?

Mine are due 7th, but I was surprised to receive anything at all from Avro.

I've posted readings from 26th Sept on both the original AVRO site & through link provided by Octopus
