It means what it says. Neon Reef has found the money to pay its dues to Ofgem so it remains solvent as a supplier. I am not sure though it would be on my short list of potential suppliers.bristolleedsfan said:[Deleted User] said:
Caveat Emptor:xlnc99 said:sorry 16.48pOn 21 September 2021, the Authority issued a provisional order to Neon Reef Limited ("Neon Reef") in accordance with section 25(2) of the Electricity Act 1989. Neon Reef is required to make Feed-in Tariff (“FIT”) Levelisation Payments on both a quarterly and annual basis, as per the requirements of Standard Licence Condition ("SLC") 33 and the Feed-In Tariff Order 2012. Neon Reef has failed to make its FIT Year 11 Annual Levelisation Payment of £37,350.76 by the deadline of 17 September 2021. The provisional order requires Neon Reef to pay the outstanding amount forthwith. On 24 September 2021, the Authority made a Revocation Order in accordance with section 25(7)(c) of the Electricity Act 1989. The Authority decided that the terms of the provisional order were no longer requisite for the purpose of ensuring Neon Reef’s compliance, as Neon Reef paid the outstanding sum on 22 September 2021. The provisional order is no longer in place.
I understand they owe money and if they dont pay they will go bust (in nutshell). My question is how long is the processs. IF they survive through the winter then could be a result and switch in feb/march0

Look again at your 3.4p/kWh for electricity. You are quoting the price for gas.I have no idea how long any supplier will remain trading. Small suppliers tend to struggle in rapidly changing market conditions more than their bigger counterparts.2

Yes sorry i meant GAS. But 3.4 for GAS is a steal! Where else can you find this?
There are some good deals out there still if people shop around. I for one cannot afford high prices for energy so need the best prices0

Certainly not on OFTM website being as they are not currently offering gas only, cheapest dual fuel gas offered by OFTM Gas unit rate: 8.726p per kWh regional differences will apply regional differences will apply

This is going well. A gas price of c.3.5p/kWh means that the supplier may be providing gas at a loss which is why many suppliers are no longer offering their variable tariffs to new customers.bristolleedsfan said:xlnc99 said:Dolor said:Look again at your 3.4p/kWh for electricity. Take a look at the right hand column of this spreadsheet that shows the wholesale price of gas (6.179p/kWh today). A year ago today, the wholesale price was 1.113p/kWh.xlnc99 said:[Deleted User] said:Look again at your 3.4p/kWh for electricity. If no-one knows about them, they can hardly post them, can they.xlnc99 said:Can someone post links to the best comparison websites to look for energy. The ones that no-one knows about
Thanks in advanceThere really isn’t a list of secret comparison sites that only the select few know about. It would defeat the object for suppliers if no one could find them to take up their deals, surely? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4

Yes and No, Octopus Energy who were already the 6th largest supplier have added 550,000 customers from Avro Energy.bristolleedsfan said:wakeupalarm said:
Octopus Energy taking over Avro Energy customers are now the 4th largest supplier!Bullet500 said:Octopus was not my choice to move to i wanted to move to one of the bigger suppliers,
I thought Octopus Energy are the 6th largest supplier, behind in no particular order BG. E.on, EDF, SP, OVO Brands
This takes them well above Scottish Power.
It also takes them slightly above EDF energy, though this may change after the current turmoil.
It also depends on how you look at customers, Electric and Gas combined, separate, or total number of accounts, ie counting customers with dual fuel as single or double customers.
The figures will be updated soon to 1st of October on Ofgem statistics pages.
Top 10 by number of customers.
 British Gas
 EON
 OVO
 Octopus Energy
 EDF Energy
 Scottish Power
 Bulb
 Shell Energy
 Utilita
