Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers

Believing they would sort things out on their end I did nothing at all but waiting. Only a couple days ago I checked after MWT mentioned cancellation.westv said:
I don't understand why or how you are paying Avro. The advice was to keep DDs running but Avro took their last DD from me back in November.J_forest said:
Me too. Contacted them for information but they just muddled up things. They also asked me setting up another direct debit but I did not want to. I still pay in Avro every month as advised by Ofgen and I have added extra fund on Octopus account just case. I am going to ring them on Monday or Tuesday.beeniecarol said:I'm one of the customers still waiting for the transfer from Avro to Octopus and starting to get very frustrated now.
We were due to switch to Avro just before they went bust. I have had a final bill up to 29th Sept from igloo and the credit refund from Eon.
Avro took two direct debits, the £178 credit never showed up on their website. I have send Octopus my meter readings every month and made a payment; I have no idea if this close to my actual usage or a mile off.
Octopus haven't replied to my email on 2nd march. The last email from them was on 11th Jan thanking me for my patience.
Has anyone any idea what's happening or how many of us are in the same position?
Thank you

I didn't do anything either. They just stopped taking the DD. I'm surprised yours carried on.J_forest said:

Well this is fun. I now have 5, yes 5, direct debits to Octopus Energy set up in my bank account! Hoping they will be able to tell me which one they are actually going to use so I can delete the other 4...0

I managed to finish up with two DDs to Octopus on my account. Fortunately, my bank indicates the dates on which DDs were last collected for each one. If there is no last collection date for a DD then you should be able to delete it. It may be a good idea to email Octopus to tell them which ones you are going to delete or you may be inundated with automated dire warnings of the end of the world because your DD has been cancelledMikeBzz said:Well this is fun. I have emailed them to ask which one they are going to use. If they take money from one of them before they've told me then I will simply delete the others. Hopefully they won't take it from all 5 :-)0

They didn't collect both DDs in my case. So it shouldn't be a problem once they've collected the first one.MikeBzz said:I have emailed them to ask which one they are going to use. I think mine is set to pay the full amount on receipt of bill, is that pretty normal?0

I think that is what mine would have defaulted to.oliverbrown said:I think mine is set to pay the full amount on receipt of bill, is that pretty normal?1 -
I still have a few steps to go, it's possible the variable direct debit will be changed to a monthly fixed amount before the first bill is generated.0

I did this via the phone, no problem.0
