Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers

Took some time to sort out, but finally there I think. Was put on an E7 tariff because we have an E7 meter, but obviously were not on an E7 tariff with Avro, and didn't want one.Only a theory, but I suspect you get different people responding to emails, even if they use the same name. Initially, the replies were sent late at night here, suggesting they were cominig from several timezones east of here, but later they were pretty instant and during normal UK working hours. The (always polite) attitude changed slightly too, but at least we got there in the end.

Credit to Octopus. After yesterday's rant on here and a follow-up email I got a response early this morning, apologising for not responding to my earlier email and promising to start getting my bills sorted.
I await further developments with interest0 -

Good for you, Max68. IMHO, the only good thing about that article was the writer's introduction talking broadly of "could top £3,000" - but he then quoted his source's ultra-precise balderdash - "to hit £3,238 a year". Otherwise it delivers nothing but higher blood pressure. To see MSE at its best, see the two posts I've thanked in forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79014056 today. Two posts where the posters took time to read and understand my question and then offered worthwhile pointers and measured follow-on comments. Two out of five is pretty impressive.

I’m one of the unfortunate group who joined Avro days before they closed. We paid the agreed direct debit to Avro until the end of the year. We realised last month we were no longer paying anything and contacted Octopus. They have promised us an estimation of our bills based on our readings but so far nothing. With the extra we owe on top of our Avro payments and now no payments at all we must owe over a thousand at this point and my patience is wearing thin. Don’t think there is anything we can do though other than wait.2017 - mortgage of £140,000 and interest rate of £10 a day

Trouble is I have no idea how much extra we are going to pay and as they didn’t tell us the direct debit was stopping we didn’t realise for 2 months we weren’t paying. It is all very frustrating and I feel we have been very patient but it has been 6 months.2017 - mortgage of £140,000 and interest rate of £10 a day

Not much help but if you submitted your meter readings around 26 Sept (when Octopus was appointed SoLR) then you should be able to work out your consumption since then to get a reasonable idea of where you are now.
