"How does my account balance work?

Your balance may be temporarily incorrect as some transactions on your account are being manually reviewed."

And I thought "must be so" - but, No. They really have charged me, correctly, a sum to cover my Octopus usage up to 25th December.

I thought that I'd get some sort of payment holiday - but this, first, bill has swallowed my balance transfer and about the same again in Octopus DDs - and left me less than £100 carried forward.

    <Gulp>

Well it's not easy but it can be done.  Not much option these days but to try and use less and I've stocked up on fleeces, throws, dressing gowns and thermal socks!  Ok it's been a mild winter generally so far but looking back at the last three years between December and January I've used 337, 221 and 315 units of electricity and I know I was away for a week the year I used 221.  Gas was 75, 54 and 66 units (imperial meter).  This year between 29th Nov and 29th Dec I've used  248 units of electricity and 26 gas.  Amazing what putting the boiler on for one hour a day can do!  The sad thing is the bill will probably be more than it was in the other years because of the prices and I'm bloody freezing!!!  :D

Well, it has been a mild autumn.  The worst of winter is still to come.  Central heating is now a luxury.  Some know that already.  Heaven knows how they'll cope.  Others will learn the hard way.

Like others here I can see my first charges being applied by Octopus by viewing the my balance page, but don't yet have a PDF bill to detail the breakdown.  Interestingly I can also see that I had a "SOLR balance transfer" debit of £26.73 (i.e. a minus value) transferred from the Avro final bill at the end of September.  I can then see that a "balance transfer" of a credit of £26.73 has been made mid December cancelling out the negative from Avro. I wonder what that is about?
scroll down a bit and you will see another section Your Avro Repayment Plan: Remaining to Pay: £26.73

If you scroll all the way down - at the very bottom "take me to old dashboard" - if you click you will see YOUR BALANCE is just one figure which will include the £26.73

Like you I have not received the PDF yet, but can see how things were calculated, and sadly, they are correct. Pretty damn high bills and winter officially started only last week.

I fear we will need to prepare ourselves for a direct-debit shock from around February when the new level of the cap is due to be announced and suppliers start feeding the new rates into our expected payments.

I wonder whether Octopus will have started taking direct debits from me by February, so far my meters haven't even been added to my account. Maybe people in mid switch to Avro at the time they ceased trading will hear something after all the final bills have been issued to other customers, which appears to be still ongoing.

Still waiting for my first bill from Octopus. I was one who's switch from Green to Avro happened they day they folded. Got my credit back from Shell yesterday (Green Balance)

Had my first and final bill from Avro and have nearly 2 months DD credit. Have been submitting readings and have created spreadsheet to workout how much I owe. They send emails to say they will produce an up to date statement within 48 hours. None as yet!

Been advised by Octopus they will take a direct debit for what I owe as and when they eventually get round to sorting it all out.

Getting bored with the wait but I guess I just have to wait.

Did they bill you for one day of energy? My switchover day was a few days after they ceased trading.

Billed me for 3 days SC (23rd to 26th of September) for Gas and an Estimated 1.5 Units of Gas (28.5 kWh) but nothing for Electricity, not even SC.

Just noticed now that my final bill does not show any MPAN or Meter Serial Number for Electric. That would explain nothing for Electric.

AVRO dashboard still showing my credit balance.

My Avro account (switch was confirmed a few days before they went bust) is only showing the direct debit balance I paid them. Nothing about the energy I’ve used or the final balance. It’s very frustrating.
