Landed at Birmingham just after midnight. Had to press passport on an e thingy, after that no further interest by Immigration. Nobody checked our printed Covid pass or printed passenger locator form. They were checked before leaving Malta though.

Well I arrived from Dusseldorf this Morning at Heathrow and nothing but my Passport was checked in Germany or in London !!

No queues at LHR either out the E-gates in 5 minutes.

That would be right. The onus was placed on the airline to check compliance with correct documentation prior to checkin/flying back to the U.K.  Your PLF would link back to your passport number which was scanned upon arrival at BHX.

    Welcome home btw.

From your recent experiences it appears the Government have got the e-gates connected to the PLF as they said they would . Something that actually works and reduces queues , doesn’t make the headlines  But is good news none the less .

Arrival at Heathrow last week, I only had to go through the e-gates and didn't have to show anything to anyone. Presumably I wouldn't have been allowed to pass if there wasn't a PLF registered against my passport number.

I found the UK PLF form a little fiddly to complete but managed to get it to work first time by filling the form in on my phone and taking a photo of the QR code on NHS certificate which I had printed out. You need to scan the QR code for the 2nd jab which slightly confusingly is the first code on the page as the are in reverse order.

The Spanish locator form was a lot easier to complete.

I have just downloaded my certificate PDF via the NHS app. Mine shows the two bar codes alongside each other with the first jab date on the left and the second jab date on the right. This seems to be correct or is it the case that they are incorrectly labled and the latter jab is actually on the left hand side?

Maybe they have now changed it but when I downloaded mine in had the second jab on the left "2 of 2" and the first on the right "1 or 2"

Whichever way around they are printed you need to use the one from second vaccination one at that has the proof of being double jabbed.

Thanks for replying. It must have been corrected as mine has 1 of 2 on the left hand side and 2 of 2 on the right.

  • I had trouble filling in the form. I tried to scan my vaccine certificate code in (not knowing which one to scan) and after 2 or 3 attempts it essentially locked me out with a message that said something like not to worry it would be checked at UK passport control. I knew then and it turned out to be right that that just meant a lot more queuing as the E-Gate wouldn't accept me which I'm pretty sure was due to the plf as normally no problem with E-Gates. I had to joiun another slow queue to be manually checked although in my case the bloke didn't bother with checking any Covid stuff. That was around 3 weeks ago though.

Also I have used the same code on two plf forms (for two different trips!). The first time I never registered the test kit or took the test because it was so late so it was still available to me for the second.
