I don't think the 2 day test on return is changing on the 4th it will still be PCR. They said that it would be changing at the end of October to Lateral Flow in time for the half term which is 25th to 29th October in my area. Being the UK Gov the change will probably be effective from the 30th but they won't announce anything until the 29th!

I'm travelling to Portugal and have just bought lateral flow tests to take prior to travelling to Portugal (Portugal's rules)
If we still need a PCR test when we return on the 20th Oct then a couple of days before I will buy them from Randox so that I can enter the code on the UKs Passenger Locator Form - they will be delivered to my home to use on the 22nd. If the changes have been introduced by then I'll buy a lateral flow test online before leaving Portugal for the UK. No need to buy them before you leave if you can get online abroad and the places I'm staying have wifi.

They could say only LFT required and then everyone would panic buy LFT and there would be none left !!

I don't understand what is happening in this thread - my COVID pass (generated the NHS online COVID pass service and then downloaded and printed) only shows one QR code, despite the fact that I've had both vaccinations many months ago.... should I be worried ?

Oh. when did you download it? I did mine on the 24th and I've asked for a Covid Pass letter just in case it is different.
Are you in England? I think NI have a different system but not sure about Scotland and Wales.

I downlaoded it a couple of weeks ago (it must have been around the 13th September as it expires on 11th October). I'm in England and was already signed up to NHS online. I'm not sure if it makes a difference. but I only need mine for domestic purposes (to get into a concert venue), not for foreign travel.

Mine has 2 QR codes as does my husband and others in the very small boutique hotel we stayed at. It is all immaterial anyway as the PLFs were barely glanced at on our return today and they really just wanted to see the paper copy of the jabs, in fact there was almost an irritation at people fumbling on phones- paper seemed much preferred. I flew out of Palma Majorca early this morning .

First time with the online PLF I scanned the 1st vaccination QR code, it was not accepted, scanning the 2nd also failed. even trying to upload the pdf caused an error.   I then tried with a fresh form and scanned the 2nd QR which went through with no error.
Looks like the form does not like to be edited :-)

It was good to see everyone as baffled as I was by the govt instructions. 

Eventually I downloaded the QR info as a pdf, took a screenshot of the right hand side of the page ,- the 2of2 section - saved this as a JPEG and uploaded it without complaint from the PLF website.  Hope this helps.

Tried several times tonight’s to complete the form which doesn’t say anywhere on the govt website that you can’t do it until 48 hours before flying back to UK. Worried now that it will ruin our last evening trying to fill more forms which don’t work properly. The test run tonight was not scanning our qr codes and then several error messages saying we only had one vaccination - it’s all very ill thought through. And none of all these systems snd forms are compatible!!
