MIL taking DC1 today though not sure what time exactly/how long for. Hoping it's until after lunch as weather is rubbish and not sure what to do to entertain them otherwise.
We need milk(!). DH is charged with getting. I do get a bit annoyed with him as he does get cash out without telling me (from his account as we do still have separate accounts) then I lose track of spending. I think it's a boy thing to have cash in your wallet. I don't have a single penny in my purse!
Lady picked up the jungle gum - £5 in change - annoying!!!!! It has gone in the change pot. 1 car seat/base to go and then need to list all the clothes/gro-bags etc over easter/week off in May. DC2 is about to go into his 18-24 month clothes which is sad - but another bundle to split between charity shop and sell.
Dinner is sausage and chestnut pasta from freezer tonight as DH has band meaning I have TV to myself - yay! To catch up on The Split and This is Us. Also loving FBI Most Wanted. Do need to start some hobbies other than watching tv tbh!

Just ordered DC1 the girl drynites on S&S - they were far cheaper than the boys (by over £10 a pack) and he won't notice plus it's only for night time. If it was for daytime/nursery then I'd stick with the boys ones but seems silly when the girls ones are much cheaper and they are literally just to sleep in.
Forgot to say we are nicely still under half this month's reduced budget. Whilst the shop will be expensive this weekend due to feeding people and booze on top of the usual, we should be ok. DH has, however, invited his entire family for an egg hunt on Easter Sunday meaning we will also have to feed them. Thankfully he is suggesting morning so can hopefully just do bacon baps (though 1 sister is veggie so will need to cater for her too) rather than a full on leg of lamb or similar.2 -
@[Deleted User] - the girls nappies might not really be suitable for your DC1 if he is still regularly wetting overnight as the padding will be nearer the back rather than at the front where boys need the padding. Hopefully the girls ones work out OK as they are so much cheaper. It was one of the reasons that terry nappies were often folded differently for boys and girls so the thickest part was in the right place!

Could you do something a bit simpler and cheaper like a stew or curry cooked in the SC? You could precook it and just have to reheat it at the time and cook some carbs to go with it - potatoes or rice.

Bacon sandwiches are awesome and not inhospitable at all. There is no SHOULD here. If you want to cook lamb cook lamb but do what you want.
Also no one here is judging you. You are GREAT. Absolutely bloody marvellous. Crack on and enjoy the new house doing exactly as you please XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXNevertheless she persisted.5 -
