Took the DC to softplay this morning - £11.90!!!!!!! They did enjoy it however and we don't go often. Bumped into a friend of mine with her daughter which was nice. We've stopped buying coffee when there as it is rubbish, but we cannot resist the sausage rolls (£1.95 - we shared one) - taught DC1 to say "dirty sausage roll" and DH managed to get his whole half but I ended up giving the DC 2 small bits each. Also had to buy a pack of biscuits for them as they ate their bear paws and were kicking off (well, DC2, not DC1), so that was another £1.
Car seat gone (£20). One car seat to go. Will re-advertise I think.
Had to buy ant poison £5.99 as they seem to want to be in our house.
We are still under half budget for month with 2.5 weeks to go. Next week will be expensive as we have friends coming to watcn the grand national on Sat (kind of a tradition that we all go to one another's houses), including the friend and her boyfriend who kicked us out (I know). Funnily enough, they've never had anyone round to theirs for it!
So I am thinking of making: finger sandwiches (egg mayo, cucumber, beef & horseradish and then just some thin ham ones? Don't know whether to put tomato in those but it's fiddly), then thinking some goats cheese and caramelised red onion mini tarts, plus just buy some mini pork pies. Then going to make a carrot cake and best mate is making a chocolate cake. Will that be enough? It's afternoon tea. Will probs get some pizzas and sides for the evening in case it goes on (£20 on the deal if get 2 lots). And booze obvs. Hoping people will bring booze too but do I ask people to bring? It's 7 to feed/water otherwise which, given how much they all drinks, is a lot.
I'm making dinner tonight - sausage and chestnut pasta which is divine. Will also do a leftovers dinner in the week. Should feed 6 but DH eats for 3, hence will only be 2 portions left.
MIL came round before as she had got DC1 a green t-shirt from charity shop. She showed up at lunchtime (to be fair we are near her church so she was on way back from there) - so we felt obliged to feed her. Leftover soup and bread from yesterday. But she did buy DC1 a t-shirt. And she is having him Thursday morning.2 -
Glad the t-shirts sorted. Yes I would ask everyone to chip in on booze. Maybe bring a dish too but I'm tight 🤣Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Paid all the baby stuff cash into bank - came to £238 as we kept a little of the loose change back in our kitchen pot for if we need to pop out for milk etc. Hoofed it straight over into house savings.
Spent £2 on chocolate from the pound shop. Have hidden from DH in my handbag as otherwise he will scoff it!
Went into office yesterday. The atmosphere is abysmal due to 2 people. Loads of people want to leave (including myself). It is so so sad as it used to be a great team to work in and now no-one wants to work in it. I've decided not to go on the team drinks - why do I want to sit in a bar/pub in that atmosphere? Would much rather just sit at home in front of the tv!!!
Picked up a free book bag from library for DC1 which had 2 books in plus colouring pencils and some vouchers for free soft play (not the same place as sunday!) and aquatots in it, so will try to use those. DC1 LOVED the books and went to sleep holding them - bless his heart.
DC1 to nursery today so just have DC2. We need a couple of bits from the shop to make gnocchi tonight and milk so will grab on way back but should be minimal.
Need to check banking - did yesterday but lots hadn't come out from the weekend so just want to make sure all correct.
This time i am seemingly "up" by £22.99 (still not using a spreadsheet!) so have deducted that from what we need to pay this month but will make sure I double and triple check after last time!
Walked to and from work yesterday - around 35 mins each way - so did over 12000 steps which pleased with. Only going in on mondays so if weather is good going to try to do that each week as it's actually quite a nice walk. Today I must try and force myself to do a workout DVD when DC2 down - I am useless at motivating self unless actually have something I HAVE to do it for.3 -
Sounds like a nice walk. What do you do with the gnocchi? Im not sure how it's meant to be used.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I actually just stole a recipe from the Heck website - we had a pack of their chicken italia sausages in the freezer last week and there was a recipe for gnocchi with those and then it had lemon in too so we could use a lemon from our tree. Was really nice so decided to do it again this week! Has spinach, creme fraiche and parmesan in it.
Was £15 in WR. I did, however, scan an easter egg and then put it back! Got a couple of things we didn't actually need right now but which they often don't have when we do so stocked up. Avocado, bananas and pom bear for the DC also.
Walked round the park for a good hour with DC2 which was nice.
Started watching Series 3 of The Split - love it and was bawling my eyes out!!!3 -
Thanks for the gnocchi hint. Not sure about chicken sausages lol. I must try and pick up courage to try themDedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

NSD today, been messed about over the jungle gym by 1 person, now being messed about by another - they have 1 more chance to collect tonight then it is going in charity box - just not worth the hassle for a fiver!
DH driving me potty. Kids are sweet. Looking forward to the weekend.
1 friend now got covid so unlikely to be coming Sat (he is on day 3 so it is possible if he is testing negative but will see). So doubtful his wife coming either. Leaves just the couple I rented the house from who kicked us out when DC2 was five months, and my best mate. Messaged him this morning saying that it was awks as didn't want our first meeting after "events" to be without the others, but they had moved a weekend away so we can't really cancel. Eeeek!3 -
You could come down with covid 😉Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓
