Utility Point to Cease Trading

When did you guy submitted you're switch request, I submitted mine to Eon day or two after utility point went bang but in the end switch failed as Eon claimed EDF keep blocking it so EON cancelled it in the end.
I got a feeling it was all bull so EON didn't have to supply the 2 years fixed.0 -

However when I check https://www.findmysupplier.energy/webapp/index.html
Its still showing as EDF - hopefully this is just some lag in updating the system
This is different from my Symbio to Neon Reef move for electric where it updated the same day

Now showing British Gas Trading Limited - I'm sure you'll find the same.Doc_N said:
Same here. Not bothered though, because the confirmation email from BG yesterday and their website are more than enough to go on should they attempt to backtrack. Most systems are going to be laggy in the present situation.Inigo_Montoya said:BG Evolve took over my gas supply yesterday

Ive still not heard a thing from EDF since the original 'Hey, we are taking over your supply, we will be in contact soon with a welcome pack etc etc', that was received on 20th Sept.
I tried to move to avro on the day UP stopped trading (14th Sept), that obviously fell flat on its ar*e, so then decided to jump on with Zebra Energy and the same day my parent (With Avro) switched to Eon.
My parents switch went through, i suppose Octopus allowed the switch.
Where as EDF blocked my move to Zebra!!!! So lost out on a reasonable deal!
Is there a legal time frame for a SolR to complete the switch?
Not that there are really many if any deals currently but feels crap being held hostage by EDF.

GNE went bust at the end of January, EDF were appointed SoLR at that time. I had first contact from EDF in April, and it was May before my account was up and running. If they run to the same schedult it could be December or January before your account is straightened out.LSD25 said:Ive still not heard a thing from EDF since the original 'Hey, we are taking over your supply, we will be in contact soon with a welcome pack etc etc', that was received on 20th Sept.

EDF presumably blocked the switch because your account wasn’t in credit. Mine was in credit and the switch went through without a hitch.LSD25 said:Ive still not heard a thing from EDF since the original 'Hey, we are taking over your supply, we will be in contact soon with a welcome pack etc etc', that was received on 20th Sept.

another poster on this thread said he was told by EDF over the phone that they will be honouring the UP tariff till your account is transferred to EDFs system - as apposed to being charged on the EDF tariff from september 18thLSD25 said:Ive still not heard a thing from EDF since the original 'Hey, we are taking over your supply, we will be in contact soon with a welcome pack etc etc', that was received on 20th Sept.

If this is true (and its a big if) then the blocked transfer might turn out to be a blessing in disguise especially as it may be the new year before your EDF account is up & running
You might just have been unlucky with the timing of the start of your switch - if you'd started it a week or so later like we did it might have gone through - from what I have read there is a shortish time window where a 2nd concurrent transfer is blocked0 -
Not sure if it just a timing I think in my case Eon was just being a**holes and didn't want to honour the cheap tariff since they claimed EDF blocked the request on multiple occasions, I did call EDF and they said it they didn't block it and couldn't even see anything on their side that eon even try to switch the supply.
When I contacted Eon and told them EDF said they didn't block it and EDF couldn't see any evidence that Eon even try to take over supply they didn't seem to care all I got was talk to EDF.0 -
I haven't heard much from EDF for my gas, but have applied to change to Bulb who first gave me a date of 19th and have now changed it to 29th. By way of apology they are giving me 30 quid. It's probably not their fault anyway but mine for trying to jump too quickly. I may well be moved on again when Bulb go bust!0

Any reason you moved to Bulb they only offer variable so will be the same price as EDF as all supplier set their variable to max allowed on cap.t0rt0ise said:I haven't heard much from EDF for my gas, but have applied to change to Bulb who first gave me a date of 19th and have now changed it to 29th. My guess you don't like EDF.0
