Just a minor update to say that Utility Point have taken a direct debit from my bank this morning.  I half expected it to go out with the direct debit first being cancelled and later reinstated.
Same here. UP took the payment today. My credit balance just got bigger.
Anyone know why EDF are taking so long to contact us about our new accounts?
Has your credit balance actually got bigger though? UP took my standard direct debit a week ago and the amount has yet to be updated on the UP account and still shows the original balance from the day they went under?
Even though my dd is always claimed on the 1st of each month the credit never seems to appear until  6th.
Many thanks - mine appeared on the account this morning. Took 9 days rather than the usual 6 but all good now.
I am hoping it is not going to to take months to appear as a credit on the EDF account. I am now £132.02 in credit with UP.

This month's direct debit, taken on the 1st, is showing on my account as of today.  That's me £150 in credit so far, but there are bound to be others with even higher amount of credit.  I'm only in credit as Utility Point have yet to generate a bill for me since joining them.

£650 odd for me now!  Having switched to BG already, I imagine I’ll have a few months to wait for a refund from EDF!

We’re in the same boat then. I said I’d switched to BG, but I should have said started switch. Looking good though - account set up, readings taken by BG and due to switch 10 October.

has anybody cancelled the UP DD with their bank & been charged a fee for a failed DD by UP ?

Just asking as I am also moving to BG Evolve in a few days & do not want UPs automated system taking more DDs AFTER I am transferred to BG Evolve

I am definately cancelling the UP DD as, for me, that means I will not have any credit to chase as I will instead owe UP / EDF a small amount of money

Of course under normal circumstances the DD would be switched off after a transfer out but I get the sneaking suspicion that will not happen now

Im up to £230 now due to low use over summer (gas is only for heating) and id normally start to see that being eaten in to around November's bill time so if its not transferred across quickly enough ill be paying over and above on the initial EdF bills whilst then having the credit amount floating in the code somewhere waiting to come back to me. And yet still no end in sight to the delays.

I initially cancelled the DD with UP but had second thoughts that EDF might place me on the higher cash tarrif, which would add to the pain. So I had it reinstated and a payment was taken from my bank on the due date as a DD to UP. My credit is now at over £250.

Regarding your switch, I suppose EDF could block it if your account with them is in debit.

I don't intend to initiate a switch until EDF migrates me fully but I'm expecting this will happen by 9th October, as that's 3 weeks after they stated that UP customers had effectively moved to EDF. The 3 weeks was the timescale given by EDF for full migration.

Like you, I’ve left the DD with UP in place because removing it risks a higher tariff for my short time with EDF, and an objection by EDF to my ongoing, almost complete switch from EDF to British Gas Evolve.
