My supplier now is showing as EDF but apart from an email few days ago informing me of the move I had no confirmation of what tariff I will be on. How do I find out the tariff so I can compare the to other deals?

I have yet to receive a single email from EDF (and yes, I've checked my junk/spam folder).  However my supplier now also shows as EDF.
Time for me to phone the weak as water offshore call centre and drag some sense out of them.

Well EDF still haven't got an account for me yet.  Their advice is to wait 28 days from the date of transfer - that's easy for them to say, they aren't the ones paying sky high prices!

That's why some of us jumped ship earlier than advised (though I think that advice to wait is much more for the benefit of suppliers than it is for customers, which is why I'm surprised Martin Lewis is pushing it).

Having said that, however, it's probably too late to worry about it now - the EDF rate is a capped variable rate, and in these odd times it's probably one of the best, if not the best, rates you'll get at the moment.  If you can find a fix at the same rates (highly unlikely at the moment) it might be worth considering, but you'll probably find all the fixes are now outrageously priced.
  • I followed the advice not to cancel my direct debit but was surprised to see my usual monthly payment collected today in the name of Utility Point.
Was this instigated by EDF I wonder? I already have a large credit balance with Utility Point so do not owe them any money.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

  • The direct debit payment still on autopilot it's going to keep getting collected untill they get migrated to EDF billing system, all the DD payment after UP went bang will be included in the final bill that EDF will use to credit you're EDF account.
