I can see you getting anywhere, they will just blame UP at being slow to send them customer records.Doc_N said:Just arguing it out with them now. They owe me several hundred pounds and they’re not getting away with that without a fight!
Ofgem don't care either.

We’ll see……..I suspect they’ll work out that it’s going to be cheaper and simpler to pay up than to have to waste time dealing with an escalated complaint that eventually ends up with the Energy Ombudsman, which will cost them almost as much in charges as my overpayment.Spies said:

Just sent a strongly worded email myself, giving them 14 days to refund the £629, we shall see!Doc_N said:

Each case taken to the Energy Ombudsman cost the energy company in question £334 - and that was 10 years ago. If EDF aren't prepared to refund what I'm owed it's going to be quite expensive for them, quite apart from the time they're going to waste. They're wriggling at the moment, coming up with a variety of excuses, but let's see if that concentrates their minds.Spies said:

All in hand and progressing nicely, thanks. Sometimes it's necessary to apply a modicum of pressure to persuade companies to speed up their processes.........QrizB said:Doc_N said:

After reading some of the comments I am not sure if I am wise keeping the dd going. At the moment I am £132.00 in credit and another dd due on the 1 November for £30.00.0

I’m trying to get some clarification on this from EDF. They’re saying the continuing direct debits still being taken are nothing to do with them, and entirely down to UP. My supplier has been British Gas for a couple of weeks now, but the UP payments continue. I’m cancelling my DD because it can’t possibly create any issues now with either UP or EDF.CRISPIANNE3 said:After reading some of the comments I am not sure if I am wise keeping the dd going. Nearly £800 owed by EDF now, and I’m not surprised they’re in no hurry to repay. Energy Ombudsman referrals will cost them around £500 each - revenge is sweet.1
