I queried this point on pre existing direct debits this morning and was informed that such DD's which exist on the non Santander switching account will count towards the 2.

I think that would be prudent..GTR_King said:

True, there are a couple that I can't access for that reason. But at least the offers are back and many will not have benefitted from them before or long enough ago that they can benefit from them again. It's certainly a change from what we've had for the past year or so.Daliah said:
If only it were......they all have the 'you won't get the bonus again if you had one before' clause now 😭tempus_fugit said:it's like the old days. I noticed the same.Bobblehat said
One point to note about the questions I was asked when I was arranging the switch. I was asked when I want the switch to go through ... "Immediately or at a future date"? .... I opted for a date in early October, and was told the Switch would occur 7 working days later. I corrected the agent and said I wanted the switch to go through on that particular date, not 7 days later! He said then I would have to pick a date 7 days earlier to make sure that the date of the switch occurred when I wanted it to. In all the many switches I have done, I have never been asked to set the date that the process of switching starts .... always the date of the actual switch! Just something to watch out for!
I requested a switch for 01/10/2021, only to receive an email to say that my switch will go through on 11/10/2021, as instructed.
I know I didn't insert the wrong date as I selected the day after the monthly interest hits the donor Virgin account.
As the 1st is a Friday, 7 working days is probably 11th, taking into account two weekends.
Cba to try contacting them to change it.
I'll leave it as is and collect a bit more interest from Virgin in the process.
Never chosen a start date for switches before though. And I have done about 8 or 9 now. Oh well.0

Nope.....Alex9384 said:Can someone answer the question I asked earlier, please?Did Santander offer their credit card to you during the application for current account?HSBC and Nationwide did it when I opened their current accounts online-.
Many of you obviously opened new Santander accounts now, so just tell me Yes or No. Thanks Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Got a question for anyone who can answer it or has experienced something similar recently. So I have got myself in a bit of a mess, as many of you know, recently Nationwide have been running at £125 switch offer for existing customers (of which I am one). In a bid to get this offer I applied for a Santander current account as a donor account to get the Nationwide Switch offer. Fast forward to two weeks later and Santander have a £130 switch offer that I like the sound of (I like free money) but I have just switched out of them after holding an account for a matter of days.I have also recently opened a Lloyds Club account for the same reason, to get the £100 switch offer from them.Am I able to switch back to Santander from either my Nationwide or Lloyds to get the switch offer, given that I left them for a switch offer just days ago? Or would they reject me pretty much instantly?0

Only way to find out is to apply for another Santander current account.westalex518 said:Am I able to switch back to Santander from either my Nationwide or Lloyds to get the switch offer, given that I left them for a switch offer just days ago? Or would they reject me pretty much instantly?
It's worth noting though that there is a clause in the switch offer that says they reserve the right not to pay the cashback where the offer is abused and gives the example of switching out and back in again!1

Santander have been very tolerant in the past.

I have seen this term, I would hold onto this account for some time and would hold off on switching for some time I think, but they aren’t to know that I wasn’t abusing the switch offer… bit of a predicament.Ed-1 said:
