I didn't realise Chase was instant clearing? Are they not just hiding the fact they're pending?
If they subtract any pre-authorisation amounts from your balance, show them as actual transactions & reject them for insufficient funds immediately, then they aren't pending. They've already gone. I guess it's because they don't offer any kind of overdraft.
It was a paypal transaction & I don't think they settle the transactions immediately.

This is what I do with a local train app as, despite approving it in Chase, the approval is not recognised by the train app.Daliah said:Have you tried making the payment through Curve? I have just made an online purchase, went through without a hitch.
Curve does not prompt verification so skips that process.
Works fine, and still get the cashback

I was thinking more of transactions that do go through and show as debited immediately.I've had customers where I work with Monzo complaining that we've taken money (so presumably it shows as "gone through" on their app straightaway) which subsequently have dropped off after 7 days (so were in fact pending, but that was hidden from them).0 -
Paying annual TV licence does get you the 1% cashback I've discovered1

However cashback is only for debit card payments, not direct debits0 -
Yes, Chase UK do offer DDs. But you will not get any cashback for DDs. only for debit card payments.mrsmsebastian said:I have just open a chase current account and wants to know if there is a direct debit facility for it as Im planning to move my bills to them if I can get cashback on them.

The only UK bank currently offering cashback on DDs are Santander, whilst the only UK bank currently offering cashback on debit card payments [for one year] are Chase UK. To maximise your returns, you can hold accounts at both. Although it might be tedious, and you might only earn small amounts - it all depends on your personal circumstances.0 -
just to make it clear for myself, I won't get cashback if I set-up direct debit but will I get cash back if I pay my tv license, gas and electric, water bill by debit card?Daliah said:

Yes that sounds correct - you get cashback [for 1 year] for debit card payments on all items not on the excluded list TV Licence cashback definitely works at Chase, and utilities should too - though as per above, you might get better cashback for utilities at Santander.mrsmsebastian said:

Does council tax payment made by debit card qualify for cashback?Daliah said:
