If you don't see any cashback pending in the Chase app after making the transaction, you have plenty of time (30 days) to switch the underlying card in Curve to a different card. It only applies to transactions up to £5000.

Just paid with Curve card and it is showing pending cashback in my Chase app, so does that mean it has been accepted to pay cashback or can it be refused later, surprised it is paying cashback as it is a car dealer.
Cashback is based on the MCC (merchant category code). Wait until the transaction clears, then go back in time if necessary.

Okay used my Curve card to pay for BMW service, Road Tax, Extend BMW Warranty, renewed car insurance and took out breakdown cover, the only one paying cashback with Chase was the BMW service, all the others didn't show any cashback pending in the Chase app, so switched the other four to my credit card with lower cashback and all were switched and all four now showing returned amounts in the chase app.
I had my doubts that none of them would pay cashback so at least I proved it to myself and tested the "Go Back In Time" feature of the Curve card. Still surprised got Chase cashback on the BMW service..  :)
  • My Motorola Phone shows it is "Updated to Android 9" but on scanning the QR code to open an account am getting the message "your device isn't compatible with this version". Why does it say that? Seems a bit discriminatory...........

Yes, Android 9 is able to detect the gender of the person using the phone and Chase has used this to discriminate against you.
Or, more seriously, your phone is running 32-bit Android, which is not compatible.

I used my Curve card to make a small purchase in a shop (not an online shop). It was charged to my Chase account as expected.
A week later this charge has been refunded by Chase. I have not used "go back in time" on Curve and the transaction has not been debited to any other card.

Who has paid for my purchase?

just had a nightmare experience with chase.
got a message via the app asking to authorise a payment (from just eat) this wasnt a order i had made so i declined it. almost immediately i got a phone call from a number 08003763333 ( which is the chase number) male said he was from chase and believed i had been victim of attempted fraud...he stated he was going to access my account to do some checks. he gave me the last 4 digits of my card and at this point i thought it was all legit.

however he then said he was going to send me a notification via the app asking me to authorise a new device to be added to account to verify the security steps...sure enough a message popped up asking me to authorise geralds iphone...i declined this and now being suspicious ended the call and phoned chase direct....
after 30 mins waiting to speak to someone i eventually got through to someone who stated she had never heard of this type of scam ( whilst waiting i had googled it and it seems its a very common scam)
she was unable to say how someone would be able to access the app to send me notifications and all she could do was change my card details to hopefully stop it happening again.
the whole conversation with chase took over an hour and consisted of her just reading off a sheet asking set questions.

as a result i have transferred my money out of chase and will be closing the account

This is a common type of scam, but this specific instance of authorising a push notification to grant access to another device does not seem to be a mechanism Chase uses. They send an SMS to the registered phone with a one time code each time you try to access your account on a new device. Having switched devices a few times while experimenting, there was no way I could see of verifying a new device using the app on my current device.
Chase do routinely send a push notification when they have called you to confirm each party is who they say they are, but this clearly states it is for identification purposes and gives the name of the customer services agent you are speaking with. If in doubt, it is probably easiest to use the live chat to check if the call was genuine, and if not leave it at that. People receive opportunistic calls like this all the time and relating to any of the popular banks.

Currently Chase have a £25k daily withdrawal limit and are also stopping large transactions for fraud checks. I did not know this until after i had invested over £200k with them. It seems i will have difficulty getting this money out when needed. What would happen if i just requested the account be closed and all the funds transferred to my Halifax current account? Could they refuse? Or would they make me try to withdrawal money daily before they close the account?

You could always ask them. If they can't transfer the money electronically themselves from a holding account, then there might be another option, such as posting you a cheque. Bear in mind that the quickest and best way might be 8 consecutive £25k withdrawals over 8 days. If you'd have started when you first raised the issue on the 17th, you'd have most of the money out by now. Or, as suggested before, if the money won't be needed for at least a few months, wait and see if they introduce CHAPS payments in time for you.

I suggest you change your Just Eat password.
If that account has been compromised, that would explain the just eat order attempt. The last 4 digits of the card, and your mobile number would be in your account.
Spoofing the calling number is trivial.

Not sure on the notification though
