Investments
Council tax
University fees
Car purchase and maintenance
Etc.
So it's about grocery shopping, purchases on Amazon, purchases from shops, gym memberships etc.
Therefore, might be useful to come up with a list of what can be included, as exclusions are quite long.
Both of which are false/untrue.
They are of course not going to give cashbacks on car purchases and maintenance, university fees, taxes or investments etc., which are typical transactions involving large amounts for normal people...
Doesn't mean you can buy an expensive TV and get cashback, but it means many people won't have opportunities to make much money from cashback (as intended by the bank).
What is more, for people that do travel, is that Airlines tickets, hotels (even in a foreign currencies, day out activity (e.g amusement parks) can all be fairly large amounts and all have earned me nice cashback!1 -
RG2015 said:I have a question on round ups.
A couple of days ago I paid £5.50 for bus tickets via contactless. On the Chase app it registered as £0.10, which is how many remote systems initially confirm a card before claiming the full amount later.
My Chase app rounded this up to £1 and put £0.90 in my round up account. Today though, the full £5.50 is in my current account and the round up account but the round up account has not been adjusted.
Also, my main account has a balance including pennies, whereas previously it had always been round pounds.
Has anyone else experienced this?
PS. I recognise that this is just discussing minutiae, but system anomalies do interest me.
Similar circumstances when using Park & Ride. It rounds up initial grab, but doesn't adjust when full fare taken.
Also, refunds which are not round pounds will skew the figures too, as of course the associated roundup is not withdrawn from the roundups account.
I just adjust mine back to round pounds by sending anomaly pence to my savings account.1 -
You withdraw from the 5% account to the 1.5% account??1

If it is me, I have no idea where you got that assumption from.
I keep my current account in round pounds.
If my current account suffers an anomaly, I transfer those pennies from my current account to my 1.5% savings account.
Have never touched my Roundups account. That is still building nicely. £117 so far since day one of Sep launch.
I do not try and keep my savings accounts in round pounds. What a pointless task that would be 😂0 -

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this question but I will ask it anyway...Has anyone managed to get Chase debit cashback for renewing Road Tax or VED as not sure if DVLA is included in the Exclusions list?
