I intend to restart using Chase, I had been deterred when I never seen Contactless Payments working.
Ive never had an issue with them except when the contactless limit has been reached, which is the same with all banks anyway.
  • Does anybody know what happens if you spend money on your debit card, receive the 1% back, move the reward to your current account, then send the purchase back with the cost refunded to your account?
In my experience if you say do a purchase in December and get a refund in December they take the cashback back. If you do the purchase in December but get the refund in January then they don't take the cashback back.
  • I'm new to cashback, so I was heartened when I was looking for a fee free debit card for getting cash abroad to see that the Chase app offered both. However, I've discovered that not all transactions are eligible, despite carefully reading through the exclusions list in the T&Cs on the Chase app. In November, I spent £480 with various retailers - Sainsburys, Tesco, John Lewis and IKEA amongst others. I expected to get 1% cashback, or £4.80 in my statement on 1st January. I got 6p! Chase say that they can only offer cashback if the retailer's Merchant Category Code (MCC) allows this. It's the first I've heard of this and it doesn't seem to be in their T&Cs (though a sharp eyed Forumite might gainsay me). Has anyone else run into this with Chase? It's certainly changed my decision to use Chase. Perhaps I need to sign-up to a cashback site if I really want to go further with this. (Apologies if this issue has been aired earlier by others)

You might have got 6p in interest on the current account. Scroll down to "Rewards" in the app and you should see cashback - it gets added to rewards with a delay of only around a day

Chase have started to be a pain in the bum again this month.
Rejected / declined my Amazon S&S orders over and over again.
I called and Chase they say the wrong CVV is being used.
Point blank I said stop telling lies.
The Chase debit card was entered in to Amazon near 2 years ago and never been changed.
I said if I order for dispatch today it works fine, Just stops payments with S&S.
    No No NO Chase say.
So I just ordered an item there and then and it work fine.
    O, came the response.
Up the chain goes my complaint.

Funnily enough I had a Amazon order decline my saved Chase card about a week ago. Was very random because it worked fine for every previous Amazon order. I didn't bother doing anything about it since it was only the once, but if it kept happening I'd be more bothered.

I previously had a Chase account but closed it mid-last year. Has anyone closed an account with Chase and then tried to re-open a new one? I think I remember reading a while ago that if you leave them, they will not allow you to open a new account.

Rewards do not automatically get posted to the current account. You will see your accumulated rewards at the foot of the main Chase page on the app. From there you can transfer them to your Chase current or savings account.

If you made retail  purchases with your Chase debit card at the stores mentioned you will get 1% cashback.

I'm on the year 2 cashback scheme (deposit £500, get 1% the following month) with an end date quoted in the middle of April; I assume I'll only earn cashback up to that point and not for the whole of April (providing I deposit £500 in March)?
  • Can someone help please, how do I setup a standing order on my Chase current account. I can’t work it out, I see how to set up a new payee but not a recurring ‘standing order’.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
