Made a faster payment today at 15:30 hours for £13,500 to one of my own accounts with Nationwide - it still has not arrived - and is in pending in the app while the carry out additional security checks.  Contacted them via chat in the app and they are saying its down to the Faster payments system and nothing they can do - which I find hard to believe considering the posts I have been reading on here.  If they are unable to support faster payments then they shouldn't claim to.  They should be making this clear so customers can make an informed decision before making a larger payment.

Was this the first time you did this? As stated in one of my  previous post I had few largish payment stopped into security the first few months I had the account and always called in, spoke to their fraud department that then released the payment manually, each time asking to write a note of my dissatisfaction.

however I now regularly move larger amounts (similar to the one blocked for you) without any issue.

i would call in if I were you and explain the situation. Their CS has been nothing but brilliant in my experience

So I was about to try Chase then it turned out the app is not compatible with my phone. It's Android 9 but must be on the random list of incompatible models. Guess I'm staying with Virgin after all then.

Thanks - there was a 30 min plus wait on the phone and no one answering on the app - so I left a message in chat raising a complaint and telling them if it couldn't have gone today to cancel it - I got a message at 2.30am saying it was cancelled and there is no trace of it on my account now so at least i didn't lose the day's interest.  Will do what you said next time.  For now I had to take the cash from a diff account as i needed it moved yesterday.

Has anyone had any experience with refunds put on the Chase card? I did a supermarket shop today, noticed something was amiss on my receipt, so went and got a partial refund at the customer service desk. I paid via contactless (Google Pay), but the refund had to be processed by Chip & PIN. I was expecting to see the refund appear almost straight away like all other transactions, but after several hours there is still no sign of it. Perhaps refunds are processed differently than purchases, but it seemed odd to me.

I did, for a transaction that happened days early and I had already cleared the cash-back from the dedicated pot.

it did take some time to appear on the transaction list and also put my cash-back pot into negative…

Refund needed card, that would be an issue for me.
The card has not been removed from its packing since it arrived 4 months ago.
A special trip would be needed, ie to take out the card.
These days when I go out,
I only carry a phone, with a £20 note in the cover and door keys.
    Nothing else.

You need the physical card (all debit cards - not just Chase) for a refund to be processed

Refunds do not appear immediately - usually 2-3 days.

Apple Pay refund works too with Chase, this is how I did it.
