CC payments are debt repayments and don’t get cashback
Not sure what the question about paying CC from Chase account is. What CC is it, and how are you trying to pay?0 -
Hi..it's an RBS mastercard. The Add Payee screen asks for name, sort code and account number. Can I just put the 16 digit card number in the account number field then?Daliah said:CC payments are debt repayments and don’t get cashback

You need to find the bank account details from your RBS credit card statement. The 16 digits card number will go in the reference fieldscoobydoob said:

You can't pay an RBS credit card by bank transfer from a non-RBS account.scoobydoob said:

You can if you're not an RBS customer. i switched out of my RBS account but still have two credit cards with them. I pay them by bank transfer (not DD) each month, and not from the account I switched to.Daliah said:

Indeed, according to RBS own credit card statement you can, you can set up a bank transfer to sort code 16-89-76 and in the account field use 00000000 and finally your 16 digits card number in the reference fieldRudyson said:

edited: you may have to use a different sort code for your card type so check your statement (the right sort code in indicated in the bank Giro credit slip at the footer of pag.1). Some banks, like Barclays, have preloaded payee information for Credit Card and will have several options for RBS credit cards indicating different BIN number (first 6 digits). Once you select the right one, you then enter the full 16 digits numbers in the reference box2 -
My RBS Reward credit card statement does not contain any information about paying by bank transfer. The Giro credit slip only contains a sort code, and can obviously only be used in a bank, or with a cheque.Marchitiello said:

More importantly, the information posted on the RBS website, see link above, does not offer payments from a non-RBS account, other than by Direct Debit, or via an RBS current account. I think it would be pretty foolish to try and experiment with a payment method that isn't listed, and that may or may not work as your money could go into a suspense account and take ages to be refunded.

Has anyone tried scheduling a payment from their Chase account(s) and had it blocked for security checks? I thought it could be a work-around to schedule something for the next day or later.

The website may be in line with the recent marketing about CC only offered to existing NatWest/RBS clients but the back of the paper statement has this and is an official document more then a website general page (no full T&C). Do you get a paper statement or only a digital copy? Does the digital copy include the back of each page (there are two templates, one headed “How to pay” and the other “Checking your statement”.Daliah said:

below Is the back of a paper RBS statement (dated 12/07/2022), headed “How to pay”, please read the last box “Other Banks’ Online and Telephone Banking services”

as in my previous reply and instruction above, you need to use the sort code on your Giro Credit Slip and use the account number 00000000 plus your 16 digits CC number in the reference box, nothing foolish about it. I have done such payments, following the clear instructions, from Starling and Chase so far.
