The closure of the referral scheme seems a sensible move. Not before time, I would say. They also released a new version of the app this morning, and hopefully they have done something to the overzealous blocking of payments.

But goodness me, they are now advising a 3 to 5 week wait for new applicants! This points to some serious management disarray. Glad I got most of my money out already.

I'm over 24 hours waiting now, this is rubbish service you can't plan your finances properly with delays like this.

I’ve had it now with Chase, three transactions over the pass week to the same bank account all put on hold.

I wish to move a lot of cash out of Chase and at this rate it will be Christmas before I get it.

Does any one know a quick way to close my account and move all my money in one go as I can’t find any info on my account.

Had the same issue through last week. I called in this morning and 2 of the 4 payments were still 'stuck'. I stupidly assumed the payment went through as the funds had left my account and I didn't get any further contact from Chase.

The agent asked me unprompted if that's what I was calling for and sorted it out after asking who I was sending it to (both my own accounts that I've sent to multiple times), purpose and whether I'd be sending any more payments.

Anyhoo, she sorted it out and said it shouldn't happen again for the same accounts.

Hopefully it's just a technical error or temporary glitch and not something that'll keep happening.
Sorry I don't think its a technical error, I was told by CS it could happen anytime even if you are sending to the same account.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • This is a novel experience for me having a money transfer between two of my own bank accounts temporarily blocked for a security check, which then took 2 days to be processed.

Chase either needs to reduce the sensitivity of it's transfer blocking algorithms or employ more staff, or both.

No reply to my messages via the app so I phoned. After 20 min wait spoke to someone who said they'd have to transfer me to someone else but after another 5 mins holding I was told noone was available but a message had been left to phone me. No-one has. Now approaching 35 h since I started the transfer and I'm losing patience (as well as interest) that my money is in cyberspace

Make sure to complain, and they should offer you compensation. At the very least the lost interest, and minimum £10 on top.

I suppose they would be hiding behind the PSD requirement that Faster Payments need to arrive no later than the next business day, which was end of yesterday in @kuepper's case. These delays are very annoying, and Chase don't do their reputation any favour right now with low levels of customer service.

Looks like things are going from bad to worse. I've made a transfer this morning and after 15 minutes it is not even registering as pending. My balance and available funds are unchanged. I've never known a outward FP not show up immediately before this, even if it is pending for a while.
Edit: Just appeared as pending after about 30 minutes, received about 15 minutes later, and still showing as pending 10 minutes after received.

Their customer numbers will be falling as fast they rose.

I don't have the VM account so would have been content to keep my savings at Chase given the small difference in rates. However, I can see future hassle being more significant than opening a new account and shifting my money over. It will still be worth keeping the main current account for debit card cashback, until that ends.
