Seconds after sending payments you get a text saying payment is on hold, if you go into the app and click on the payment is states standards security checks are being carried out and your payment will be delayed.Olinda99 said:
in case it happens to me can I ask how you know they are pending as opposed to gone through? I assume the money leaves your account either way ?trickydicky14 said:
I have sent 3 payments over the past week to the same account in my name, all 3 put on hold. First one I had to ring to get it sorted, second one cleared after 24hrs, the third is still pending.kuepper said:Wheres_My_Cashback said:Have made 2 x £25k withdrawals to the same a/c in the past two days. Both have gone through instantly. It’s either very random or people are perhaps sending to new payees?
My payment that's been pending for over 48 hrs is to an existing payee
What a shower of 'doo doo'.
So your money is in never land until Chase choose to let it go through.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.4 -
Are these delays for both outward and inward payments?0

I've only had 2 outward payments stopped for checks when I first opened the a/c (new payees-which I would expect), but all have been instant since then and I've made many high value £5K+.
Wonder if the delay is at all determined by which Bank/BS the payments are going out to ?
I've never had an inbound payment delayed, but have had internal transfers delayed.1 -

No reply to my messages via the app so I phoned. After 20 min wait spoke to someone who said they'd have to transfer me to someone else but after another 5 mins holding I was told noone was available but a message had been left to phone me. No-one has. Now approaching 35 h since I started the transfer and I'm losing patience (as well as interest) that my money is in cyberspacekuepper said:I'm over 24 hours waiting now, this is rubbish service you can't plan your finances properly with delays like this.
Now over 48 hours mark. I had a message via the app earlier this morning asking when is the best time to phone me so now waiting for a call. I'll certainly bang a complaint off to their freepost address if nothing is offered besides an apology
Now 2 days 10 hours plus and money still pending and still not received the promised call from Chase. Total debacle, the small gains aren't worth the stress of these jokers.

Then lodge an official complaint. They're quite good at dealing with those and you can name your price.kuepper said:kuepper said:kuepper said:

I will but my anger is turning to worry now and how long it will be before I get my money as most of my life savings are involved and part of them is needed to pay the balance of a holiday next week. I feel quite helpless I've even thought of contacting the Police, I may try CAB in the morning when it passes 3 days

Surely it isn't a sign of a good / desirable / reputable bank if you have to "name your price" to get decent service?Wheres_My_Cashback said:

Update: after a 45 minute phone call my money has been transferred. No offer of payment for loss of interest, stress it has caused, time I've wasted messaging and phoning etc. IF I get anything as a result of formal complaint I'll post here.

Glad you could get your money moving, and hopefully you'll get a little compensation for what seems rather overzealous checking by Chase.kuepper said:kuepper said:Wheres_My_Cashback said:
