I read in the ofgem rules to suppliers that they have to keep the tariff for six months which is why there is confusion over variable and fixed. It is seemingly fixed for six months and then will become variable. This is only what it seems to me and I'm no expert.0

BG are forecasting my annual electric bill to be 12 grand 🤣 they've invited me to set up a direct debit -erm, no thanks! 57000 units a year they estimate, where do they get these estimates from? I live in a terraced house!1

I've logged into British Gas, says supply date 1st October. Based on my 4000kwh a year (no gas) works out at £915/year. Thats cheaper than any Big 6 supplier fix at the moment.

What is the best way of getting the £12 penalty charge refunded? I contacted PFP but as expected no response. I assume if I haven't got the BG account set up before the next DD, another £12 will be charged!0

I did manage to speak to someone at PfP about the £12 charge for cancelling my direct debit ( as advised by OfGem). I did this because I have a credit balance with PfP which would easily cover a couple of months use. So why give more money to a company which has stopped trading when I have become a customer of British Gas ?The person I spoke to seemed unable to understand the complaint and kept repeating that the charge was incurred because the charge bounced back from the bank. Did suggest that I claim from my new supplier. That at least made me laugh.1

Recently PFP Energy stopped trading and Ofgem, the industry regulator, asked us to take over the supply of energy to your home.
As of 10th September you became our customer, welcome to the British Gas family.
So did PFP try and claim money from your account after 10th September? My DD is due out on 23rd September and I have cancelled it.0 -

I didn't cancel my DD and they took my normal payment on the 19th after I submitted my meter reading on 17th. I should get the statement today. I'll be about evens on the money.
