Well that's an increase of £376pa over PfP, and I'll be paying £505pa more than I was just a couple of months ago with Utility Point. The current best switch will save me around £100, I'm not sure whether it's worth the bother!Stompa0

I just hope, my chosen companies won't go bust.
I think it's safe to switch now. My account with PfP won't be closed for months, because I had complaint for gas and my electricity wasn't billed.0 -
66% increase for me, yikes! My gas is with zog so it's just electricity going to BG.
I tried a comparison using the price promise sept 22 tariff on cheap energy club, it's £5 cheaper per year on the standing charge but the cost per unit is the same as what BG are putting me on.
It can be beaten by 9! (neon, SSE, eon next, utility point, igloo, Sainsbury's, utility warehouse, utilita and bulb) Also matched by ovo, EDF, geuk, together and Bristol.0 -
I'm one of the people who was with YE and got moved over to Scottish Power. I only changed from SP when I saw the debt I was amassing, so went with PFP. I've only had a couple of bills with them.
Now I'm trying to find an alternative and it's not looking good. It looks like I'll have a choice of Eon or Sainsburys with my bill increasing by about £20 a month.
I tried to do a comparison with Go Compare but it says I don't have a gas supply. Er, yes I do. Anyone come across that before and have any idea how to sort it pls? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

"If you pay for your energy by Direct Debit or quarterly bill, we’ve created a new tariff for our PFP Energy customers - Price Promise Apr 2022. Its currently cheaper than any other tariffs on price comparison websites. We’ve competitively priced in line with the Ofgem energy price cap and it doesn’t have an exit fee."
I've not tried a price comparison yet, but is that true?
British Gas Price Promise Apr 2022:
Gas: 4.169p/kWh, 26.123p/day
Electricity: 20.680p/kWh, 24.113p/day
Sainsbury's Energy 1 Year Fix and Reward v19 (No Exit Fees):
Gas: 3.961p/kWh, 19.273p/day
Electricity: 19.818p/kWh, 17.262p/day
So British Gas are expensive in *all* respects. How they can make such a claim to be cheaper? It's just an outright lie!
I'm really tempted to jump now whilst it's still available, and if it fails hopefully the worst that will happen is I end up back in the expensive British Gas pool that I'm in now.2 -
from 12p to 20p kwh just like that OUCH!!!. Time to get a diesel generator built in an outhouse at the bottom of the garden!0

I have just had an email from British Gas confirming the Tariff (British Gas Price Promise Apr 2022), I don't understand how they can state "this is currently cheaper than any other tariffs on price comparison websites", when this is not true. A quick search on the MSE Energy club shows that Sainsbury's Energy and Eon Next are cheaper. I feel like they are dangling a carrot with 'our advice is not to move just yet as it will make it easier to transfer credit balances', I have put in a switch to Sainsbury's Energy Two Year Fix which is still cheaper than this tariff BG are placing us on. I am avoiding the smaller firms for a bit with the market being so volatile at the moment and they could go bust and we could end up back to square one. The Sainsbury's Energy 2 Year Tariff (although its 34% more expensive than PfP) seems a good deal at this moment in time and I don't think it will be around long. You also get 12,000 Nectar points (worth £60) for switching and triple nectar points at Sainsbury's on Petrol and Groceries for the two years.4

I only recently switched from Outfox The Market to pfp and not long after 1st meter readings and no direct debit being set up find this happends.
Thought I would check my old supplier and their pricing is now ridiculous so not sure what would have happened if I had stayed with them on the variable I used to be on.
I found via cheap energy club that Sainsbury’s 2 year fix was best option for me if things carry on like they are and so switched the other day. What happends between pfp, bg and Sainsbury’s I do not know but did not want to miss the Sainsbury’s offer being pulled as it is currently less than the bg details I have just looked up as their email a few hours ago could not be bothered to inform how much they will stitch you up by.
so if you can look at Sainsbury’s and perhaps switch before it’s too late. Would rather lock in for 2 years for the minor increase over 1 year and no exit fees if things improve during that period.

Warning - Don't cancel your direct debit to PFP. British Gas took over the supply on 10th September, and on 14th September PFP Energy applied a £12 penalty charge to my account, and they've already taken the money out of my available credit!

I can't check the new "Price Promise Apr 2022" tariff because it isn't on the price comparison sites. There is a "Sep 2022" tariff on the Cheap Energy Club and on MoneySupermarket, but not the "Apr 2022" tariff. I feel stuck, I have smart meters, and PFP were able to read the electricity meter OK,but the gas meter didn't work. I gave a manual meter reading for gas over the phone, and they assured me it would be OK. When I got my final bill from Igloo energy, I found the gas was a ridiculous estimate, and checking back to PFP energy website, I found an estimate for the gas and subsequent reads of the smart meter, that were really low, and completely wrong, I complained and they said they would sort it out. Soon after someone came torrid the meter from PFP energy. This had no effect, as they didn't update the correct reding, he gave, and the original estimates were there, but without the rubbish low reads from the smart meter. I rang up to complain again about this, on the day that I found from PFP website, they had gone bust. They cancelled my previous ticket and put another one in place.
Now BG want me to give a meter read on the PFP website! I made a note of the readings on the 10th September, should I give that one? or todays or tomorrows?
The gas estimate PFP put on the gas meter is really high.
I'll have to complain to BG, and hope they can sort it out.
So how did people find the Price Promise Apr 2022 tariff? I checked the T&C's for the tariff and it doesn't give details, except saying it is the same as the price cap. Useless!0
