NSD 11I had a terrible sleep last night. Woke at 1 and didn’t get back to sleep until 5, then alarm got me up at 6. My mind would not shut up.Nevertheless I got up, did my morning routine, got DS to nursery, managed two loads of laundry washed and hung in between work. I logged off half an hour early and rested on the couch - dozed a bit. I’ll get off the couch soon to bring in the laundry and prep dinner.Grateful for wfh, for leftover lunches, for Mum helping out so much with DS (don’t know what I’d do without her), and for getting stuff done despite missing half a night’s sleep.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

DrCarrie - no drama is a good thing. Hugs.Today I am grateful for dc skipping out of the car to school to meet friends, for a gym session, for still getting bowlfuls of rasps, for a lovely lunch out with friends, for resolving an issue at dc's school where they had made a mountain out of a teeny tiny molehill.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Went to bed last night with my book at 8.30, was asleep by 9! Haven't been to bed that early in years! Had a good sleep though, so must've needed it. A bit cooler today. Work went well, a bit of change in my timetable, but nothing I couldn't handle. Chatted with a colleague after work. Washed up, then did sewing after tea. A spendy day as ordered some things for DS3's birthday next month
Grateful for a catch up with colleague, reading in the bath, keeping folk calmUse it up, wear it out

Feeling clearer in my head but my feet don't want to move. Did some cooking, cleared out the fridge (mum's tomatoes had deliquesced so there was a puddle in the bottom of the salad drawer and several things had to by wiped clean including the drawer), started food audit. Want to do both fridge freezers and a bit of freezer tetris, cupboards and start a new store in the shed (there are 3 bags in there - mainly tins, but want to organise them and list what I have. Hoping the veg will be able to be kept in there in a few weeks (and throughout the winter).
Bins went out, did some cooking, pegged out mum's washing. Later on I filled the trolley with water bottles and went round the garden (in the dark). Any bottles that have their tops were stashed in corners. It might rain today (dull and cloudy atm) but we are supposed to have another 'mini heatwave' at the end of the month, so storing water where it will be needed. Crossing my fingers that the water butts and tin buckets will soon be full. Seeds I set off a couple of weeks ago are doing well (want to set off more inside, protect some crops and pot on some seedlings into yoghurt pots).
When I came back inside I looked for a cheapish delivery slot (there are cheaper ones but I'm not stumbling about after 10am trying to sort stuff) and put an order in. Have decided it's better for my peace of mind to have a good stock of things that won't go off (tins, bottles, jars, dry goods). Mum has spent over 500 pounds this month (have a rough idea where most of it went but no details) and all my budgets are trashed anyway. Think they were unrealistic and will change my priorities next month - concentrate on what I'm spending, minimise it as much as possible and get in stocks of stuff we need (mum still owes me for roll-on deodorant, 3 books of stamps, antiseptic cream, birthday card and many odd items - she has offered to pay but I've said leave it for now).
As I'd already spent money I ordered filters for my CPAP machine and wipes for the days I forget to wash it soon enough - the straps take a long time to dry and worried about putting it on wet when it gets colder, hospital type masks for mum and three books to come from my present money. I've started sitting down with mum during Tipping Point and The Chase and was disgusted that StU-de-oh had an advert last night - It's beginning to look a lot like !!*$$8!. There were cards and decorations out on my whistlestop tour of the town last week.
We turtles will remain true to our principles, work in tune with nature, reuse, repair, reduce, recycle, grow our own, make our own, bake our own (brew our own), buy second hand or from charity shops, set up no card/ no present pacts, only buy food our families love and attend events that we want to, concentrate on making memories and being happy, warm and cosy. If you are super busy do not stress about cutting out any or all of these, cheat like mad (buying a shop bought cake and decorating it yourself) get family and friends involved and Don't be a Martyr.
Things to be grateful for Books and libraries, trying new recipes, having food in the house (many don't and many more will slip into poverty soon), a warm house, a comfortable bed, lots of bedding, the garden starting to look the way I want it, new series to watch, soap, flannels, towels and hot water, improvising (admiring my bookshelves made with broken drawers), rain and if mum could not have any more 'ideas' for the next 6 weeks (or better still 6 months) I'd be really pathetically grateful (each 'idea' adds 1 to 3 weeks of work onto my schedule and I'm already overloaded).

Lovely words mothernerd
We went on a 7 mile coastal walk yesterday, with a picnic stop halfway. I'm very impressed by the amount and cleanliness of the public loos here ! (middle aged goals
Bought a potato and tin of tuna and some brocoli to put with leftovers for tea so friend had tuna pasta and i had jacket potato with veg spag bol.
Today we had pastries for breakfast and are off out to explore a nearby town. Definitely need an ice cream as the quota is far too low considering we're at the seaside!
Budget is doing well, spent well below £100 between us so far

Evening turtles. No more NSD's here. Work confirmed I was paid correctly so I'm feeling flush, paid off the last £579 of my car debt woohoo! Now I just have a pesky £700 vet bill to clear. I also have £800 on my credit card from my car insurance claim (excess, train tickets, hire car) that is taking FOREVER to claim back. It's all costing me the earth in interest so I did a 0% transfer as I don't anticipate it being resolved any time soon. Have to say my insurer has been horrendous, three months on since my accident and we've got precisely nowhere with the claim.
Anyway, enough moaning. My car is paid off, and I can save extra next month and clear a bit more of my credit card than originally planned with plenty left for spending too. In non-MSE news I managed my "usual" length of swim today for the first time since my back procedure so I'm pretty confident I'm on the right track there. Work is still quiet, I've hinted that I have capacity for more so hopefully some comes my way!
Speaking of the C-word, someone at work has sent the traditional email to start organising the work do. Have decided I'll go as it's a new team so it'd be nice to do something together as I don't see them that often with remote working. Plus the options are cheap!6 -
Ugh constant stress at the moment with a variety of things including my health, and I'm also due a 25% drop in income next month so that's not helping. I'm only at 2 NSDs but I am keeping up with my steps target almost every day.

Today I am grateful for having great journeys to and from work on the bike (it was like the cars all went a different way!), for being able to shower at work, for dc having a fab cbt session, for dh doing lots of running around, for laughing with the pupils instead of being annoyed at how easily they get off track!I'll set up October's challengeNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Evening
In advertantly went on another long walk today - i'm sure i'm getting shorter by the day and i wasn't tall to start with ...... We walked along the beach, stopped at a cafe for a snack then walked home via a footpath past some nice gardens and lovely allotments. Went out for tea this eve, struggled to find a veggie friendly place but ended up at a lovely Thai restaurant.
gratitudes - sunny days, friendly people everywhere, good books
