Sorry for not posting. I wanted to pop on and say that I am reading along and hearing what you are all up to is helping me through a rough patch. Lots of love to all the turtles. xxxStudent loan £5655

Laptop went again just after I had posted and have tried several times this afternoon. Making progress in the garden. Moved a few things off the trolley then filled it with 2 l bottles of water from the tap. Went round the garden watering most things, then filled the trolley with buckets of stones to transport them across the yard (I can just about lift one bucket, but can fit 5 on the trolley and it's easy to push them about). Half -filled the first dustbin, room for a few more stones but want to put a large planter in the top.
Scraped a few more stones out at the front - it's all slow but all I'm fit for.
Grateful that DS2 did not come today (he's bought the paint for mum's front room so is coming at some point but I want to be a bit further on, then he can move the next lot of heavy stuff), for easy food and hidden treats, for water and garden chairs. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage4 -

Went for a walk with hubby this morning, shortened a pair of curtains for a friend, then moved soil into the raised bed (think it's full now!). A couple of customers collected their sewing & were very happy with it, good to get it out of our very small bedroom too. Cut out fish for sewing whilst watching a film tonight. Also someone told me the other day that you can get assistance at train stations if you're not too mobile, so I've booked it for our trip to England next month, will ensure we catch the train (7mins only to change trains/platforms) & we'll definitely get on the right one!! (Disaster 3 years ago, happened twice on the same journey north!! You couldn't make it up)
Grateful for a nice walk, being in the garden, getting things doneUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

When your mental health isn't in the best state, give yourself a break. Don't feel guilty for things you can't do. Normal things like eating, sleeping or socialising may be difficult, it's okay to struggle. Rest, recover, be kind to yourself and know the bad times are temporary.

Calming thoughts (use as needed)

A seahorse swaying in the current, wearing a tiny bow tie
The fact that sequels exist
Daddy penguins
Jelly (it's impossible to feel anxious whilst imagining jelly)
Unicorns roasting marshmallows
You don't have to be positive all the time. It's perfectly alright to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious. Having feelings doesn't make you a negative person. It makes you human. Hi all,
I'm on my hols! Managed to pack, do washing, change my bed and do a tidy and clean before leaving home at 1.15pm on Friday. We had a long journey, delayed an hour on M62 then navigator failed us by missing our turn, leading to an extra 30 mins on the journey. Found a parking space on the road, carried all our stuff up 35 stairs and we had arrived!!
It's lovely here, a nice town, by the coast, Sainz in walking distance and accomm is great. Yesterday we walked along the sea front, sat looking at the sea, had an ice cream, sat in a deckchair with a beer, so relaxing and peaceful.
Today we are going to perhaps walk in f0xh0les footsteps as we are going to visit Whitby
Friend is paying for everything then we will do sums and i'll reimburse her. We've been eating in but probably have a meal or two out and lunch so should be within my holiday budget
Hugs to those who need one.

No NSD's this weekend. Yesterday I went to a horse show with friends, budgeted £50, spent £37 including giving my friend £20 for petrol. Basically the only spends were on food/drink. Spent far too long stuck in traffic and queues, a 90 minute journey ended up taking 3 1/2 hours! Turned out the venue had poor signage and not all entries/exits open so everyone was trying to get into the same entry....
I was predicting my back would hurt and sure enough it did, but I was prepared for it. Bought some prosecco on the way home as a little treat.
Today I went for a swim first thing and then did some housework. Went to see my share horse but didn't ride, waiting until next week until my back is hopefully 100% (or maybe 99%). Met my sister, her partner and my nieces there and we went for a walk. Got soaked. I had bought some nice sausage rolls for them all so lost my NSD. Bought what I thought was a vegetarian one for myself, it said cheese and marmite so I assumed it was some kind of veggie thing but when I looked at it, it wasn't! Luckily I noticed before I took a big bite.
Changed into nice dry pyjamas when I got in and promptly fell asleep on the sofa!
Hope all the turtles enjoy what's left of the weekend.5 -
NSD #8, the crumble was delish, and with the custard not too tart. Pesky plums and greengages!Top 2 floors cleaned and hoovered. 4 loads of laundry done and drying on the line. 4 out of 5 of us are coughing, and 3 are complaining of sore throats. The joys of other people's kids' germs in an educational setting.Supper will be broccoli in a garlic sauce Chinese style. Food as medicine.DS1 (Turtle-in-Training) is going to a sale of belongings left behind by other Uni students this afternoon, looking for a bargain.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
