Lebara switching Sim only plan - Deals only available to new customers

Thanks for the Post above, I've just managed to get a new customer deal as a existing customer on my current sim card.
Although it can be fiddle and I had one failed attempt.
So.. do not purchase the deals at the promotional price ie the 21gb deal is £7.95...but discounted at a much lower promo price for the first 3 months. It will show in your basket at the lower price, even tho you selected apply to an existing sim, the system will treat it as a new customer and send you a new sim. It will not show on your dashboard as plans available, even tho you have paid.
You must purchase the 21gb deal at £7.95 (non promo price) and it will be immediately applied to your account visible in your dashboard.
Now.. the means of getting the non promo price to appear in your basket seems a little hit and miss, but with a bit of fiddling it will appear.
As an example...
Log in to Lebara on a separate page.
follow the link for the 21gb uswitch and click buy, after you land on a name & address page. Close page.
Then follow the sim choice link and click apply to existing sim. Close page
Then refresh Lebara dashboard and it may appear in your shopping basket at the correct £7.95 price.
Have a mess around, I'm sure it will work out.
I got refunded for my new sim purchase attempt via a online chat with customer services. And gleened info..

UPDATE
It works as above if you follow dribbler’s instructions and use this link to apply to your existing sim. I hadn’t initially realised that the link was here rather than appearing on the Lebara website.

Thanks all2 -
I managed to make this work .... more or less .... so thanks for the tips.
BUT I now have two plans in parallel for the same SIM. Oops.
Do you know if I can just cancel the PayPal mandate for the older (poor value) plan and keep PayPal running for the new 12GB £6.90 MSE Plan that I just blagged?
Will that work or do I need to chat to customer services?
There's no simple option in the Lebara website to cancel one of the plans.

If you tap on 'Manage', can you turn off auto renewal for the unwanted plan ?
EDIT: Looking again at your pic, it seems you have already done that.1 -
Thanks for the idea, dc_scotland 🙏
You're right that it's already switched off. The weird thing with the MSE Plans from Lebara is that the autorenewal has always been switched off. And they just took the money from my PayPal each month (as I wanted).
Problem is I can see how to end the old plan now.
Guess I could contact Customer Support but worried they'll notice I've cleverly got a great plan while being an existing customer
Worried they might cancel the new one.0 -
I would have thought that as long as you have auto renewal disabled on the unwanted plan and enabled on the wanted plan, then you should be okay. It's the way I used to do it, without any issues.
If you discover 12gb is not quite enough and you can be bothered going through the same process again next month, then there is a 15gb deal for £6.90 with uswitch.1 -

Try turning autorenew on and then off again, and see what happens.
Cancelling with PayPal might be an option, but could cause problems if you also use that to pay for your new plan imo.1 -
@savergrant Perhaps I am misinterpreting, but isn't auto renew a plan setting rather than an account setting ? Whenever I changed plan, auto renew was on by default on the new plan as you say, and I manually disabled it on the previous plan.2

Thank you both! I checked PayPal and found an old and a new mandate for the old and new plans so I've cancelled the old one and am hoping the new one keeps my new plan renewing.
UPDATE: Contacted Customer Support and just said I'd 'recently upgraded' but it went wrong and I ended up with parallel plans. They were super nice and cancelled the old one for a refund in 5-7 days.0 -
