With the seeing all the things that need doing but not being physically well enough to tackle them - try using candles or twinkly lights. Every December I try to have an hour a day with music and candles. helps me not get too frazzled and means I can't see things that need dusting/ cleaning/ moving and jump up again to do them.

I once told a therapist that I didn't wear my glasses when I went in the bathroom first thing in the morning and last thing at night (glued to my face the rest of the time). I never saw myself naked and I felt alright (at peace with my body) so walked around with the mental image of myself (just had a shock when I saw myself in a shop window). she thought it was brilliant and would try it herself.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • I may have tided. A lot.

I found a load of stuff I had ordered and not opened, I have treats and some food for the animals till doomsday, some face masks, new underwear, a water bottle or 3......sorted some clothes, got even more stuff to go. binned some recycling, and normal rubbish, threw away two pairs of shoes, an old lamp, out of date rabbit food, broken bags, split table cloth x2 re-organised my drawers (Oo er) Since Marie Kondoing I don't have much. It is always the same with me, there is a system, it works so well so long as I can keep up with it, just spending an afternoon doing some sorting has  made a lot of difference.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • I am really worried about Mum, she has quite the cough going on. She let me put her blanket on and I dished up the dinner ( I washed my hands loads and was wearing a mask). It is a big worry.

The tidying was a good distraction.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Mothernerd - I have wrapped sparkly lights around the head of my bed :) Thanks for the idea XXX

a saying I heard years ago” If you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you always got”. Maybe a bit trite but helped me to start making changes. Hope it might help you.  I have read your posts for a long time and never commented, ignore if you don’t think it is appropriate

Personally I was thinking in terms of do item 1, then possibly item 6, then pretend you are a lady of leisure.
